When they stop trying to fit 15 people on a BSA and discover that a Motorcycle can be a device of SPEED.

I really hope Indy doesn't get a GP for one reason: Tony George. Tony is one of the dumbest, lowest, most selfish scumbags in racing. He took his ball, the 500, and went home, destroying open wheel racing in this country. I don't care how historic the track is or how much I love Moto GP; I am not giving Tony George my money. George doesn't deserve Moto GP. He is one of the biggest disgraces to motorsports (right up there with the current France family regime) and I hope Dorna doesn't dance with him.

As far as Miller and Road America go, do we really need two west coast GPs? If such a large country is going to get 2 GPs, then shouldn't they at least be spaced-out geographically? Trackwise, Barber Motorsports Park looks suitable; However, it would need the paddock upgrades and all. Barber is located in Alabama too, would Moto GP sell out down there?

Think another US gp would be great, Have watched AMA superbikes for the last few year on sky tv and it just gets better . laguna seca is a great race but something needs doing about the surface for next year and the other circuit that I like the look of is I think called barber motorsports park , But yes where is alabama [ sorry Alabama] is it mid states.I dont like the infield circuits and the use of cones but respect the racings great. Think Hodgeson would have kicked ass if the bike had been up to the job though.

I want a GP race near the east coast more than probably anyone else BUT I seriously question the choice of Indy...

I can't believe they are serious.

Very very bad choice...I fear for the racers safety.

shupe i think barber is a bit tight. plus george barber has problems with burecrats that wrecked his chances for a gp goin to his track. i believe we need an east coast gp. the atlantic gp. but there just are'nt any suitable tracks. at least safty wise. vir would be great. just a couple of hours from me. but they'd have to spend a bucket of $ to upgrade. it's also to remote. this is also road americas problem. there's pocono, also close to me, watkins glen but again they'd have to spend truckloads of $ to upgrade. it won't happen. that leaves miller as the best possibility for a 2nd american gp. there just is nothing here in the east...... yet.

i seriously doubt that there will be a gp at this sub par track. it is to dangerous. but stranger things have happened so u never know

but i hope this does'ny happen.

It took yamaha to spend millions to get the GP back to laguna seca and it'll probably rake an even bigger investment from another company to get a second US gp, mainly because the tracks arnt suitable. If there is a second gp it would logically need to be on the east coast or at least not too close to laguna seca. This way a different audience would have a chance to watch.

But how big is Moto gp in america, i hear a lot that the US is blind to it and barely even cares about gp, but then laguna seca sells out. I think with the calender as packed as it is already it is unlikely to get another US round unless a race is dropped, and i cant imagine which one that would be.

How serious is all this anyway, i havnt heard anything outside of this website about a second US gp and it sounds unrealistic, more like its hopeful fans thinking that the result of an american champion will be a larger investment and interest from the USA.

If your going to have a second round in the US, and that's a big "IF" there should be a west coast and east coast round with the 125/250 contingent.
I would love to see the additional round at Virginia International Raceway, but as stated earlier it would take a major safety renovation to make it happen. Road America appears to be in the process of renovations, but not sure if they will suit MotoGP bikes.
If you can't get another round in the US to go off, I wouldn't mind seeing another round goto the UK, not sure which track though?

There ain't really a need for another GP in Britain, Donington is within an acceptable distance for most people in the country.

Sorry guys I'm really not convinced we need 2 GPs in any country, Motogp has been opening up around the wotld over the last few years and we need more of that, not less.

Is Motogp really that big in the States that it warrants 2 races? or is it because we have an American champion this year? Will we get more Americans in Motogp if they dont have to travel?

Not convinced at all, we should be opening Motogp up worldwide as much as we can. Historically, American racers are more prone to staying at home than travelling, whether it be F1, MotoGP, Motocross or Enduro as they have lucrative and successful home series or equivalent in these disciplines, so why should the Motogp circus run after America?
