Rossifumi must be shitting themselves - despite this test being just a shake-down. Interesting there's no sign of whatsisname 99X or whatever. What the .... is Lorenzo up to? He doesn't seem like the sand-bag type.

Apparently the tires have crappy edge grip, which means JLo can't hit the insane lean angles that are the key to his style. His team is trying every setup trick in the book to compensate for this, but no luck so far. He was so pissed about it after day 2 that he refused to speak to the press.

Lorenzos in for a bad season as things stand, if he's good as perceived he should be able to ride around it but we won't see much of a challenge to Marc.

What's interesting is that last year Rossi complained that the tire isn't suited to his riding style, and right now Lorenzo is making the same complaint. If his team can't figure out how to make the tires work, he may have to completely rethink his riding style just to be competitive.

more to come. for comparison: stoner landed p1-p4 regularly on a tire he hated in 2012. so I don't see JL in p9 race pace wise. understand that he's pissed, though, but for sure there is a lot if sandbagging and politics involved. will be on the podium in qatar.

Which is why some consider him to be the best. He had the ability to ride around problems that freak other riders out. Personally, im thinking Rossi is loving the tires compared to last years but is being diplomatic because Jorge is whining so much about them

Phillip Island today - Ducs going alright.

I think they only did short runs for tyre testing today. Can anybody confirm?

No info on short or long runs. Only know they started off on last years tyres. The one's that wouldn't last race distance for comparison, before moving on to the latest spec rubber.

These PI times are all on the slow side, it's just testing tires. Good to see Lorenzo back where he belongs though.
