Pov, while I 100% agree with your take on Jum, when I lived in Spain, they preferred 125s and 250s over 500s, often some of the Spanish crowd would leave after the 250s had finished, they would say that close wheels inline high corner speed racing was far better than a drawn out field of bikes only a few could ride on the limit, after a few years living there I agree.

What is there feeling with the Moto2 compared to Moto GP, because Moto 2 isnt anything like the high corner speed 250 used to be.

I don't know the answer to that buddy as I live in the UK now, but I am going to visit old friends in Spain in the summer and I will get you their opinion.

while I don't live in spain, I have attended the Valencia GP last year. and MotoGP was clearly the big thing for everyone, though the commitment to the smallet classes was much bigger than with the Brno crowd. though, Spain didn't have that many big guns in the big class for quite a while, so JL and MM's successes surely played a role in changing some attitudes towards the big class..

Pov and Jumkie should settle it once and for all since they both are always at  eachother's throat to see who is the biggest Nicky "The Kentucky Squid" lover.

Make it Laguna Seca on track day!  Who you guys betting on?  I think Pov is gonna take this one.

Back on topic.....testing;

In Nicky's post practice presser today he basically called out HRC.  I think it was a good step to take.  Nicky says that they need "the bike we thought we were getting."

Does anyone here think HRC will improve the 1000R package or simply let it die this season and move on to another concept in 2015?

Nakamoto has hinted that pneumatic valves may be available for the RCV, if teams are willing to pay for the privilege. So I think we'll see upgrades down the line, but the bike should have been faster out of the box, especially given how they were advertising that it was only a few tenths of a second off the factory bike.

Good call from Nicky, Honda said it was a few tenths off, so did Casey, have they bought what was tested ? or did they both ........ ? I would be asking for my money back and buying three Aprilias for the same money, they would also be more competitive than that pile, how can they ask you to pay even more money to try and get the performance you were told you were getting to start with.

Honda played a neat little trick with this claim: the RCV was only a few tenths off the factory bike when tested...when Stoner rode the RCV and the factory bike was ridden by test rider Kousuke Akiyoshi. HRC failed to mention that little tidbit until preseason testing revealed just how slow the RCV is.

That makes perfect sense, they just worded it so it read like Casey did a back to back test, I can't imagine anyone would have stumped up 1.2 million if they had of told the truth.

must have been tough for stoner to keep his mouth shut over that, cause he must have known what was going on.

Nicky mentioned that they were losing .5 just on the long straight!!!   That's REALLY slow.  I remember folks predicting that the RCV would perhaps compete with the Ducati's.  That's laughable now.  My concern is that instead of offering improvements, HRC will do two things;

1.  Continue to attempt to rig the rules to favor their bikes

2.  Allow this concept machine to simply die this season and then reevaluate a different concept going forward

Both of those would be bad for MotoGP and particularly bad for the teams who were punked into buying this bike.

Understood.  After the lies told abut the RCV it was reasonable to think that it was possible.  Additionally, Ducati are righting their ship.  It's still listing 60 degrees or so but they're doing good work.  The RCV on the other had is not the machine promised.

Yamaha should join the Open or Factory.version2, next year. they will see the improvement in Ducati and want some. Expect Suzuki as another v2 entrant.

You're assuming that Factory 2 will still exist next year ;)
