I don't think the new tyre was aimed at benifiting rossi, although I am sure dorna wouldn't have objected if that had occurred as a side benefit. The only evidence that I can see for dorna trying to help rossi with the new tyres is the spectacular failure of the new tyres to do so.

Your 2nd sentence is spot on.

Pieces of a puzzle:

1. The Ducati's number 1 problem was front end feel.

2. Capirossi was Rossi's best mate in the paddock and he just got off the Ducati. He was rushed in as safety advisor and was immediately deep in talks with Bridgestone on Dorna's behalf.

3. A new front tyre to replace the designated 2012 front tyre was introduced after Honda & Yamaha had fully developed their bikes based around the designated 2012 tyre.

4. Carmelo Ezpeleta/Dorna is doing media releases as if he is Rossi's manager. (see point 2)

On a side note Hayden seems to be suggesting that in the dry, drive out of corners is their biggest problem and hasn't said too much about front end issues since the new tyre. I don't think anything can be taken from Rossi's dry condition reports because it is my view he is sooking and not putting in 15million euro's effort.

I think ducati need all the help they can get anyway, and it is a shame dorna did not realise this earlier, but others including the yamaha riders also apparently voted for the new tyre. I think both now and previously ducati are/were entitled to have a tyre that suits their bike. I have never had any problem with any bike having suitable tyres, but some at times with such tyres being taken way, although perhaps in regard to this year honda and stoner should be able to adapt with the resources they have available as jumkie says.

Whats the deal thedeal, you started off fairly diplomatic and now just sound like all the other haters.

Who gives a .... if the new tyre was developed to aide Ducati's woes, its not worked and the same 2-3guys are winning. I personally dont think it was anything to do with Vale. Christ, do you think Ducati built the new frame around a tyre that didnt even exist? Everyone was complaining about how long it took the tyres to get up to temperature, BS went away and came with a tyre that takes less time to work... If anything it was the extra 4kg's of weight added to the bikes that ...... Honda and even then its clearly only ...... them slightly.

Wrong. BS had already gone away and come back with a tyre that heated up and NO-ONE was complaining about. This was the 2012 tyres. You know the ones that were available for testing and bike development last year.

Then. Capirossi. Then GPZero. Then news that the 2012 tyre that everyone but Ducati, who now are developing the 321st addition of the GP12 which I like to refer to as the GP12.DucatiNowBankrupt, had already used to develop their bikes was being scrapped and this new tyre was going to replace the 2012 tyre as soon as BS can make enough.

What do the riders expect from a 'free' tire?

If it's down to cost then BS will make them as cheap as possible.

They're not free.

Factory teams pay a fee to IRTA for tyres and tech which works out to about €180k/year+VAT.

For testing, Factory teams get allocated 240 tyres a year for either their contracted rider or any other test rider. Satellite and CRT get half the allocation and are only to be used by their contracted rider - but only pay around €80k+VAT per year.

Outside of that, CRT and satellite test pilots have to pay the going rate, same as a wild card, which is €145.00 + VAT per front tyre and €195.00 + VAT per rear.

It isn't down to cost. Bridgestone have a contract to supply. If they don't perform, IRTA can dump them.

Stoner was not only complaining about that but about the bad german marshalls who (how he said) refused to help him get back on track!

Guys...I was sittn JUST THERE where stoner went into the gravel! They helped IMMEDIATELY!!! But its not the easiest thing to pull a GPbike out of that gravelfield. I dislike stoner even more fpr what he said after the GP. He also said he was faster than peddles and dominated the race...man...if he was THAT dominant, why not overtake earlier and pull away?

...my 2 Cent...

Glad for Peddles he won one...

Glad for Peddles he won one...

they didn't help bump start him though. dangerous place to do so not a fault there, but understandable a rider is upset right after the crash.

even though pedrosa pulled his fastest lap on the last lap stoner was able to catch up even after making a mistake.to be honest, i believe stoner had something in reserve but obviously pedrosa outsmarted him.

very surprised you found something to make him dislike even more.

cheers,

see you next time you find something to whine about

I dont hate VR infact if you followed my posts youd see i said i consider myself priviliged to have watched Rossi at the height of his powers, but lets put it in perspective Hector is no match for Rossi when it comes to talent and hes on a B sting Duc but he can hasstle and pass him and that says Rossi isnt trying or he's lost the edge,he should be well ahead of Nicky and miles ahead of Hecor on equal bikes and he isnt, he is getting paid more than anyone in moto gp by Ducati but i dont think he is giving enough in return.and to be honest im fed up with all the ........ and dealings that go on around him,he is the past and moto gp should be moving heaven and earth to get new young talent in and support people like Cal and Hector and get them on factory kit rather than bend ears to get Rossi back on a factory bike.No im not a hater just a realist.

Because on history of talent Rossi should be 10 places ahead of Hector not 1 or getting passed by him so he's either not trying or he's lost his edge you work it out,if the bike is bad enough to make Rossi look this bad then Hector wouldnt even qualify.I know how the bike is working because ive been in this field for 31 years.

You do make some valid points mate, i dont think Rossi is past it though, the only reason Hector is anywhere near Vale is he's prepared to put it on the line and Vale isnt...i dont think that means he's past it, he's showed that if he has a bike that inspires confidence (only in the wet) he'll push, he hasn't lost any ability, maybe his baws have shrunk though...

He has only gone ok in one wet race. Also the bike is being ridden in the corners short shifted, at much lowered revs than the dry, so the VSG's are way lower.

Well Rossi is the only Ducati to podium this year so hardly getting wooped by the other ducs !

agreed!

i find this funny, while i can respect some fans disappointment with rossi because he doesn't push it over the limit all the time and thus from time to time is being beaten by other duc riders i can not get my head around people saying hes getting wooped.

you're not being whooped exactly when you lead the points when it comes to other riders on the desmo and you're the only one with a decent result to show

Well if he aint pushing he aint worth the money. i love the way IQ's drop when people blindly defend there hero's.
