........, I'm not Rossi's biggest fan but no-one goes out there to deliberately blow another riders race. In the words of the late great Ayrton Senna "We are racing, we are competing to win and if you don't go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver" Rossi saw a gap (either because he misjudged his braking point or saw the opportunity) and went for it to pass Stoner, NOT to take him out.
Most accept this was a racing incident, and only the rabid would think rossi deliberately took stoner out, particularly since this would mean that rossi also deliberately took rossi out, and from the lead. However as authoritative a race rider as valentino rossi himself said that it was not an attempted pass, so we actually don't need any opinions from armchair critics concerning this , and nor do we need any cod psychological speculation about the motives for valentino's over-optimism, justified though this seems to be for armchair critics on the other side of this argument (not meaning you btw) who also apparently have certain knowledge of the danger posed by and to casey stoner in these incidents.
