Congrates to Stoner and his wife on their pregnancy. A good explanation by Stoner on his reasoning behind the call on not going to Japan. He is behaving in a very normal manner as a first time expecting father in my opinion.
He's behaving like a sook. I manage to go to work without bringing my wife. Why can't he? If he's worried about the effect on an unborn baby, don't bring it.
His job and yours have a slightly different dynamic, dont you think. He has, or had serious concerns. Considering there has been a ban on meat shipments for cattle that was close to 3 times as far away, he has legitimate concerns. Everyone keeps saying you get as much flying, you get more in an Xray. What is the cumulative if he flies to Motegi, spends 4 days in a hot zone, wrecks on Sunday and has a battery of xrays.

His work means that he is constantly travelling and potentially putting his life in danger every day. It is not unreasonable to have your partner there under those circumstances and it is not like he is the only rider who takes their partner to every race meeting.
Perhaps having his wife there is like Rossi picking his undies out of his bum...superstition! Perhaps he gets a BJ each morning before he gets on the bike! Perhaps he wants to have more children.
If you notice the article indicates there are several riders who are yet to commit to attending.
I had a mate who worked on an oil rig and he didn't have his wife with him. come to think of it i dont think soldiers have taken their familys with them since the 17th centry
Actually I think stoner reneging on his motegi vow is the same as Rossi reneging on his tobacco sponsorship. I want to see some stoner fans walk away after such a flagrant breaking of a man's word.
It will be interesting to see their list of excuses for their hero Casey.... Especially from the ones who were so critical of the other backpedal you mentioned.........
However, I absolutely fail to see what Stoner, perhaps misguidedly, taking a stance on his and his family's health has to do with tobacco sponsorship. I also think it is highly unlikely that he will be promoting marlboros again anytime soon.
Reading between the lines if he does break his word it will be to jorge lorenzo in any case, whose name is conveniently absent from this discussion.
