...for nostalgic reasons including the obvious ones, 1992 and 1996 but also 99, 00 and 02 and I have to say DJ is still the classiest rider I've ever seen around that place. You have to wonder how many more wins and lap records he would have had if it wasn't for that fateful Thursday afternoon in May 2003. It took a good few years for me to really get into it again after that.

You've got your work cut out swaying me away from Joey - but I do agree...DJs potential was enormous. Tony was no slouch either of course.
I remember arriving for a shift at work and hearing the news - stunned.
Jim Moodie was right behind him going into Crosby, and was competing in BSB at the time. I''ll never forget at the next meeting the scar across his throat from the downed telephone line. Horrific.
I see what you mean about Joey, he also had more range in that he was a threat on pretty much anything whereas DJ was limited mainly to the big proddies and superbikes although he was an absolute master on them.
Yeah Jim Moodie was a lucky man getting away with that, I think TT 2003 was also when Milky had his horrible crash too.
Looking back on those old videos though you sometimes forget they used to race in the wet around the IOM.

A friend of mine lived in Peel for a few years and used to drink with Milky Quayle. Visited him once and he took me out to 'see' Norman Wisdom, who used to parade up and down the promenade eating his ice cream. I also remember Rick Wakemen's Music emporium...which was invariably shut. Very strange place - and the Manx are...'interesting'.
Back to racing...do you have the full Hizzy v Foggy senior '92? Never thought to look, but do/did Duke release it?
The DVD I have for 1992 is about 2 hours long with a good 20+ minutes dedicated to the senior. Not sure whether it's still in production or whatever though.

I'll tell you who was scary to watch around there looking at these DVD's, Phillip McCallen, really fast but so out of shape at times I don't know whether to watch or hide behind the couch.
