now it'll be interesting, first time in 1 and a half years that lorenzo has been under pressure. no more just riding around collecting 2nds and 3rds is an incompetent/reduced field.

Those who want to blame stoner for anything are seriously in error, but as Darryl Beattie said on australian tv this race is a gross indictment of the current state of motogp, with 12 riders finishing and some of them being lapped; I suspect stoner could have lapped quite a few more had he felt so inclined.
Apart from the finish rate the injury rate is also getting absurd; these bikes are obviously too treacherous close to the limit, with riders of the calibre of lorenzo and spies for that matter, going down like that, although lorenzo may have pushed too hard more so than marco today.
Marco simoncelli may have been a victim of the conditions rather than impetuosity today, but in general having alien one-lap pace is of very little utility in tandem with his crash rate; maybe he should aim for a few podiums and then work up to trying for wins. Perhaps he is similar to stoner on the ducati though, with only two speeds, 110% and about 75%, because he seems unable to ride a whole race at say 3rd place pace. He was never going to win either this race or le mans, but appeared a strong chance of 2nd in both races.

The absolute rain master of motogp is Casey Stoner. Stoner is now again leading the championship, Only 4 rounds after his colision with Rossi,

Edwards is the Super Man. Who could dream this? I was expecting Hayden to overtake him sooner or later, but he kept it very cool and just 7 days after his surgery he climbed the podium.
Hayden was the best Ducati the whole weekend, but Rossi is no where and thanks to a lot of riders who crashed he finished on the 6th place.
