Silly Season 2012

did not know Nicky originally signed with Yamaha, I thought he had been a Honda boy most of his career

Yamaha originally approached him for Moto GP and I'm certain he even signed but HRC upped the stakes and retained him by placing him as Rossi's teammate - so in effect he never left.

Despite the fact that they are ostensively on the cusp of signing Spies, coupled with Rossi's latest overtures about staying with Ducati I can nonetheless envisage a small chance of a return to the Factory Yam for Vale. If anything I do feel that as you say a private team largely financed by his personal sponsors is a more likely scenario. Yamaha want more full spec works machines out there for 2013.

Other alternative is that both Rossi and Hayden leave Ducati for a full factory backed Hyosung assault on the title.

Baz as Team Boss........

They both would do better and have a better chance at the Title on one of those bad boys

Well I'll have to put the pillion gear back on it, they can go two-up on the one "factory" Hyo I have in my shed here ...... and the one engine will have to do for a season ........... but the do get to have there racing number illuminated ..... cos i still have to get to work on it weekdays!!

Presume they'll have to make do with one set of plugs for the season too
<

Bugger that! Plugs are like hens teeth! They can bring their own ...... or the deals off!!

oh and they have to keep the fuel under 3L/100 ..

But I do have a set of very lightweight electrode plugs ( slightly used .... only 300,000km ) I could loan them for a price. They were 14mm? once but the "lightening process" may have rendered them useable in a 12mm!

disagree, completely. Rossi will bring his own cash, and cash for the team in a major sponsor-which they haven't had since Rossi left. After all the pro-Audi talk last week in Germany, Rossi is far more pessimistic in his comments now about Ducati and Audi having the ability to turn the bike around. Spies hasn't really improved, getting beaten by the Sat Yams, Honda will be looking to up the anti next season-Bike Wise to compensate for losing a top rider. Yamaha will be talking to Rossi no doubt-through Brivio who courted Rossi there in 2003.

Rossi would naturally bring his own sponsor bucks - but would still be looking for a salary from Yamaha. The rest of your post is irrelevant to what I posted.

Don't know that either of them are either of those.

IME successful bike racers are rarely boffins. Or big.

That's why I was crap at it - too big, too clever

What about rossi at lcr on hrc bike tho ,unless ducati have already got something up their sleves for next year and dont want to show their hands early

Its already been said rossi will be on competitive bike in 2013 by the man himself and dorma someone s good at keeping secerts i think we ll find out soon enough id love rossi too win tittle on ducati too prove doubters wrong lol

One wonders if Rossi to Gresini is out of the question (particularly with the Simoncelli relationship)

i reckon now that rossi has had his said meeting with the big wigs at audi i reckon he is a cert to stay on at ducati now with what looks like cal joining him.

The helmet that rossi wore on staurday and sunday give (for me) a big indication or a subliminal message by rossi the rough translation was me and you together forever or somat along them lines. Can we read more into this

?

Obvious now ped and marc are confirmed that has closed that door.

I have also read in the last few dasy that dovi may get a honda contract at gresinin with another factory bike! dnt know how much of this is true but throws another option into the ring!

HRC were pretty pissed off with Dovi after his Repsol stunt. That was the deal they offered him then - a full factory bike at Gresini, but he turned them down and made them honour the contract.

I guess now they have the stronger bargaining position - he can stay where he is, try for another ride (Suzuki, ART, Ducati) or suck HRC .... and take a satellite ride on a bike that is at least capable of getting pole and on the podium. Assuming that the rules for next year don't mean there is no factory rides outside the official factory team.

I'll bet his wages would be a bit less than he's used to...

I don't get why so many people want would rather see Rossi on a sattelite Honda or Yamaha than on a factory Ducati. Best he could hope for on those is to be as competitive as he is now. Any faster and they'll turn the wick down. At least with Ducati he can roll the dice.

If Rossi wants to compete for another championship, satellite is completely out of the question, as you said, the factory will turn down the wick to ensure he doesn't beat their factory counterparts. Rossi's only choice is to stay with Ducati and hope Audi sort the issues and do it quickly.

I thought Crutchlow/Ducati might annouce his signing this weekend, guess we will know soon?

Not looking good in my view,he didnt even get a contract to look at let alone sign, and the noise is Rossi and Nicky are staying,Smith is going to T3 so Herve will have to decide between Cal and Dovi and i think Dovi will get the job.
