Silly Season 2012

i think yamaha would be happy to let rossi be remembered as a yamaha guy (as long as he doesn't demand too much money etc of course)

and also i really believe lorenzo would like to beat rossi. as long as there is no wall , unequal treatment or something like that i think he would enjoy cementing his place as one of the best ever by beating rossi.

Been there and done that. Its like marrying a women twice, hardly ever works out. Rossi's name will always have Yamaha beside it when people are looking at lists of former champions. There just isnt a huge upside to taking him back. They have a proven championship rider who depises him, and have proven they can develope a bike in his absence..

Notice how Marquez is studiously avoiding eye contact with Pedrosa. He's already wondering what Uncle Albert has in store for him.

I suspect Puig has already 'introduced' him to the fun and frivolity. MM's got a nice Post-Traumatic, Thousand Yard Stare.

i won't argue the points you've made as theyre valid,

but i still believe that if rossi would make his return on sensible terms yamaha would be happy to take him back for another couple of years.

rossi still has plenty to offer, these are the last years of him being 100%. another couple of gp wins or maybe even a championship is the fairy tale stuff that sells bikes.

and like i said, i'm not sure jorge would be an obstacle here. i really think he'd welcome any top rider in the team just to beat him and quite frankly i think he would be able to beat absolutely anybody on that yamaha so why be afraid

Its not a matter of being afraid. Its what goes around, comes around. You tried to block my career path and were a total prick with your walls. When it was my time to shine and you had commited to another team, you showed me zero repsect by running me off track in the heat of a title chase. So know im the boss, ive already beat you on equal machines, so piss off. Of course thats just me, im a grudge holding mother .......

Disagree - I believe that Yamaha are proactively, albeit covertly, pursuing Vale - there are huge benefits in having him back - you just don't want to see it. I don't think Jorge despises him - you probably like to think he does because you do.

of course lorenzo has every right to be pissed at rossi. but if i was him i'd rather "welcome him back" to beat him rather than using my position in yamaha to block the way

Mcn are touting ben spies will re sign for factory yam, seems americans may also have the right passport if it happens, bit of a slap in the face for dovi too imo.

I don't think Lorenzo, Stoner or Pedrosa despise Rossi, infact I don't think that any of the "aliens" despise each other. As far as Lorenzo implying that he wants to prove he can beat a fully fit Rossi on the same bike without walls, I think he'd love it. There are defo benefits to Yamaha & Lorenzo welcoming Rossi back into the fold. Whether it will happen... that's another question.

I somehow doubt Nicky or Colin would be in agreement with you right now

its possible that spies will take a tech3 seat with factory support, hes backed by yamaha usa

i still wonder where the dovi to wsbk rumor comes from,it seems like dovi will either end up on a factory yamaha or be sent off if rossi decides to join yamaha again.

seems like cal was the clever guy by signing quickly before being left out .

that yamaha muck their riders about so much is a clear sign to me that they are waiting to get rossi if possible

I'm with you on this Arrab, I think Yamaha would take Rossi back, and I think the position Jorge is in now, he knows whoever his teamate is has an uphill battle. Rossi could also bring some much needed sponsors back to Yamaha.

I'm not convinced that dooris closed yet.

Not only would it do Lorenzo's heart good to beat Rossi again on the same bike, but I reckon Yamaha would (in private) be buffing their nails against their shirt and rolling their eyes heavenward with satisfaction at having Rossi come back with his tail between his legs and probably for not so much dough. Rossi isn't short for cash. What he craves is another shot at a championship.

disagree, completely. Rossi will bring his own cash, and cash for the team in a major sponsor-which they haven't had since Rossi left. After all the pro-Audi talk last week in Germany, Rossi is far more pessimistic in his comments now about Ducati and Audi having the ability to turn the bike around. Spies hasn't really improved, getting beaten by the Sat Yams, Honda will be looking to up the anti next season-Bike Wise to compensate for losing a top rider. Yamaha will be talking to Rossi no doubt-through Brivio who courted Rossi there in 2003.

Rossi Going Back to Yamaha is the best thing possible for Moto GP. It would make competetion stay the same between 3 riders. Possibly 4 if marquez adapts quickly. I for one would love to see Nicky get a shot at least for 1 year on a factory M1. He's never ridden for them unlike Rossi

Despite the fact that they are ostensively on the cusp of signing Spies, coupled with Rossi's latest overtures about staying with Ducati I can nonetheless envisage a small chance of a return to the Factory Yam for Vale. If anything I do feel that as you say a private team largely financed by his personal sponsors is a more likely scenario. Yamaha want more full spec works machines out there for 2013.

Other alternative is that both Rossi and Hayden leave Ducati for a full factory backed Hyosung assault on the title.

Many forget he originally signed to Yamaha for Moto GP who were rapidly outbid by HRC anxious to retain his services.
