Silly Season 2012

Fast forward to late next year. Lorenzo is spanking Rossi. Rossi unhappy about being beaten by Lorenzo starts throwing Yamaha under the bus, claiming favouritism to Lorenzo and his requests for softening the engine or what ever else he asks for is denied because Lorenzo, yes Lorenzo has developed a winning package that suits him. The 'good' PR that Rossi will allegedly bring could very easily become bad when Rossi doesn't win and the cult turns on Yamaha. There is now a massive precedence for this.
You mean like Spies is waiting to do once he is out of contract?

You quoted a section of my post that starts with:

Fast forward to late next year..........

You want me to quote a link for this? I have to assume that you just didn't understand because surely you can't be asking me to link to an article that will be written in the future about a future event that could only be based on my opinion because it is a future event.

No I can't give you the winning numbers for next Saturdays lottery!

Oops missed the fast farward bit. Do me a favour and do a another fast farward and give me winning numbers for next Saturday lottery please

No offence J but that is a little naive. Do you not think Takaaki Kimura (I have no idea who he is) just picks up the phone and calls Rossi on a whim? Of course not. Many people would be involved and much discussion with Lin Jarvis and all the other Race Team execs would be consulted. Ezpeleta spoke to Yamaha. Fact. Who in Yamaha that was means jack .....

Tell me why the engineers want Rossi back? They have a bike that is arguably the best bike on the grid. They are getting some credit for developing it instead of the great myth that it is all Rossi, which even now the cult still believes. Where Rossi is concern the manufacturer never wins they can only lose.

I just informed you that the guy who decides these things, at Yamaha, is not someone influenced by your likes and dislikes.
<

He of course reads the reports coming from the field (Jarvis & C) and takes his informed decisions. But you do not approve them. Too bad.

Most engineers at Yamaha were happy working with Rossi. The precision of his feedback is not a myth, even if it may seem easy now to deride his famed 'development skills' after the Ducat fiasco. He may have failed at Ducati (or Ducati may have failed with him), but they still have very clear and positive memories of him at Yamaha. That is a fact, that you'd know if you ever talked to any one of them.

.

There is nothing more naif then assuming that you can judge something based only on 'truths' fabricated by your (prejudiced) mind.

I just do my best to ignore this crap. You're a welcome contributor and should stick around and as much as possible ignore the schmucks.

All good Kesh......just found it incredible that Woody would get so upset at MA's "opinions" when he always qualifies his statements as such......ie opinions. And then for him try to take the moral high ground as a bastion of grace and good conduct.....too funny.

Great season so far.......cant understand people slagging off the riders constantly when they are providing such entertainment and drama. When I am not so busy I might find the time to drop by and call someone a .... or tell them to go .... a goat or something similar
<
Cheers.

I didn't take the moral high ground at all. I said it is hard to...

No worries mate. Thought you must have missed that bit!

Also, I only ever post my opinion. I have no access to anyone on the inside so I can not ever state anything as fact. My username is Mental Anarchist because I think for myself and I don't toe the line on what others think I should think. No one needs to agree with me but anyone telling me I am wrong needs to give a good reason why. This is only fair I think.

Off course you are entitled to have your opinion mate but some times it seems you are presenting your opinion as a fact.

So how accurate are the rumours about Ducati trying to hire Furusawa?

They would be delighted to find some form of collaboration with him. How successful they can be, it is anybody's guess.

How about something a bit nearer on the time-line? It's my 25th anniversary today. I bought her jewellery, going out to dinner - will I get lucky or is she going to fall asleep, drunk?

Wow, congratulations. Respect to you. 25 years takes some compromising! Hope you have a great night. Lucky? Well, you have been there done that so still wanting it after 25 years counts you as a lucky ........

J4rn0, Furusawa would certianly be a great engineer to sit between Ducati and Audi, but how likely is that to happen if Rossi jumps to Yamaha?

If Audi are smart and want to win with Ducati right away, they will be working at epic proportions to steal motorcycle racing engineers and technicians. Problem is, most of them are currently employed and very busy at the moment.

Tap it , after 25 years of marriage, thats how they act in the sack anyway.

On the topic of stealing engineers.. one of the most interesting things to me on the movie fastest was furusawa saying that after ww2 Japan was banned from making planes so all the engineers went to motorcycles as theyre more like planes than cars.. and that's why Japan's quality has been so high.. which makes sense for a few decades ago.. now though, I wonder how much it actually takes to gain that last second a lap that Ducati require.. personally I'm in the tire camp.. that in 2007 it just came together for them as they had a jump on the bridgestones.. and they were made specifically for them..

I hope rossi leaves .. I liked the four having a chance every weekend.. ya know it's an odd thing watching these guys.. mostly you can tell when they're wringing that bikes neck like Casey does most always..or spies' body language when he's on it, but I've never really noticed that with Rossi.. they say theyre 'at the maximum' for their feel every race and I tend to believe em.. its just hard to believe that the bike isn't capable of at least a podium from him.. I say move over and find the next stoner

Btw remember Valencia last year? I want it to be spies and stoner.. last corner.. all over again. If he (spies) wins it this year as his Swansong for motogp I'd be over the moon for him..

Furusawa is retired, but he is a very loyal Yamaha man. And a Japanese. Also, it has to be seen if he's willing to resume that kind of intensive work again.

And anyway, it would be wrong to expect miracles even from Furusawa. It takes time to enter into a completely different project, and give an effective contribution.

It would certainly be a factor in convincing Rossi to stay.
