Another aspect that ruins the safety car in car racing and would also apply to bikes quite simply is that as with cars it would be used as a 'catchup' flag as whilst the leaders will be held up those at the back, often minutes down get to catch up ......... IMO only but safety cars are about entertainment not safety

An American friend of mine told me years ago they do that in NASCAR, if it looks like somebody is a dead cert to win, they'll throw a yellow and get the pace car out with 5 laps to go, bunches them all up again, car comes in and there's a 2 lap every man for himself sprint to the finish.
