Stoner is not the one who made an over ambitious move on a poor handling bike, which for all we know could cost a rider a championship (all the points count if it goes down to the wire) but still got help from the marshals to return to racing and get decent points.
No, Stoner does not deserves a penalty from this incident, in fact, punishing Casey would make the FIM look like they just want Rossi to win (as Rossi has been given a lot of leeway when it comes to aggressive riding in the past, see incidents involving Sete at the Spanish GP and Stoner at the US GP in the past).
- for the record, I don't think anyone needs a penalty, it;s just unfortunate racing incident on a track that saw a massive number of crashes all weekend and a bike that in particular is very hard to ride.
