1) Shinya Nakano 1:35.3

2) Marco Simoncelli 1:36.3

3) Alex Hoffman 1:37.3

Aprilia's Valencia testing concludes with Shinya Nakano 1 second faster than Marco Simoncelli and 2 seconds faster than Alex Hoffman. I remember people saying Hoffman deserves the Aprilia ride? Looks like Aprilia made the right choice by signing Shinya Nakano but of course this is just testing, so we'll have to wait and see. But it seems like Nakano has a good feeling with the Aprilia, I really hope Nakano takes it to Biaggi next year. Should be a great season for WSBK in 09'.

Hoffman was hurt. I don't think that the times would be that far off if he was at 100%...
Given that... Nakano is a solid top 10 motogp rider, given the time on the bike he will be fast.

HOffman does deserve the ride instead of ...... nokando. I will bet money on it that he will be as mediocre as he was in GP. ANd he will not win a race unless the entire grid decides to not show up.

Nakano seems to be a rider that rides the bike as is. If he is given a good ride he does well, like when he was given the factory ride this past year for a few races. You also don't see him crashing out very often, he rides what he has been given and doesn't push it much. I think a lot of Nakano and likewise Biaggi's performance will lie on the shoulders of Aprilia with their new bike. If Aprilia shows up with as good a ride as the other teams, we can expect Nakano to be a top 10 guy, just like his time in Moto GP. One thing's for sure, he will do better then some of the other Japanese in WSBK like Kagayama and the abysmal Ayoama. It will be interesting to see how he does against Kiyonari.

Yeah, I don't think we will see Nakano dicing it up with Kiyo next year. The TenKate Honda is a finely-tuned, race-winning package, thanks to Checa and Kiyo. There will be some teething problems with the Aprilia, seeing how it's only the first year of competition for a brand-new bike/model, experienced riders/testers notwithstanding.

And, even though YukioKaga is on an all-new-for-2009 Gixxer, it is close enough in design to the previous model that there shouldn't be much in sorting it for each track.

Dang, this is gonna be a great year for WSBK!!! Bring it on, already!

i used to think that too, until i heard about the .... d'antin would pull in that team. the stuff they had to put up with has soften my thoughts on hoffmann considerably and i now think it was sheer frustration and not quitting that made him do what he did. still dont think he deserves the aprilia seat, but then i dont think nakano does either! i would have much rather seen a younger rider on it!

i agree with all of this with the exception that your making an excuse for hoffman. even with the .... team d'antin was he had mechanics who i'm sure were doing the best they could to give him the best machine they were able. not to mention his fans as well as all fans in general. when your at this level you don't do that period! sorry i just can't sympathize with the guy.
