Sepang Test

He should shut up about it. I cringe every time i hear Jorge say how easy his lap times are achieved. Lorenzo may have just ...... himself. Always keep your cards close. He should be saying it's not the tire but his team exploiting the ECU or whatever. Rossi has been complaining that the gap to Lorenzo is too big. Given Michelin were able to significantly change the front tire in a couple of months, they can certainly change it in the next couple. If we're talking about it here, you can bet your ... it will be covered in the Motorhome Meetings, item #1.

Only thing is any change to the M1 could conceivably hurt Rossi as well.

I think we are done for the day... tropical late-afternoon rain has arrived. Maybe Michelin will con some back markers into testing the rain hoops...

Crap! Never even thought of that. Everybody's riding with a degree of caution while sussing out the Michelins in combo with 2016 electronics. But come the day that they have to race the new rubber in the rain... well lets just say it could be very interesting.

Well that's why I wonder if they are the right guys since they've caved twice under pressure on things they should not have caved in on imo. Though perhaps they will change their minds on the telemetry data if Rossi continues the narrative as is, and then attempts to get some sort of on-track revenge on MM, which I don't feel is out of the realm of possibility.

The third thing was HRC's immediate denial of Stoner's throttle sticking at the 8 Hours of Suzuka which they had to walk back on. I believe that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

It's business Bushido. Too proud to back down on a decision once made and too proud to admit when wrong; until it blows up in their face and then they commit hara kiri, (or retire).

By all means happy to be corrected but elsewhere are reporting the times for the Ducati riders on the hard rear as:-

Rider Time
Stoner 2m 1.103s
Iannone 2m 1.6s
Redding 2m 1.8s
Petrucci 2m 2s
Dovizioso 2m 2.4s

They are saying that Petrucci's time was on the soft prior to teh Baz incident captured on CCTV here -

If the above times are correct - not bad for a guy with very little recent riding experience on the GP15

Confirms what I said about Stoner's speed still being there.

Anyone else want to keep doubting?

That's what true aliens do.

Stoner was the only true alien to ride a grand prix motorcycle among the current guys who were riding with him in 2012.

Crutchlow say's Ducati is a shoe in to win first race of the season.

Translation: let's not scrutinize my performance, it's not my fault, it's the POS Honda I'm oppressed to ride.

I'm laughing because at some point last year the RCV became the shittest machine on the grid, even worse than the GP15, which won exactly zero races. There was an M1 1&2 yesterday, one of which was second clear of the pack, yesterday an unlikely rider was first after all soft tires were withdrawn from the test. WTF is Cuntslow smoking?

I find Cal's entire presence on the grid to be inexplicable since he has done nothing but whine about whatever bike he has been on. He's been on a factory bike, and then he has gotten rides with the two junior factory teams. But all of the bikes have been a problem according to him. No it's not the bikes you tosser, it's you and your overinflated sense of ego. Either he has dirt on Carmelo or he must give great ........ because nothing explains how he has gotten all of these rides. I'm fully expecting to see him back at Tech 3 in 2017 when Asparagus gets sacked.

People just like saying "Cal Crutchlow". Something about the way it rolls off the tongue.:p

Michelin are shitting bricks.

Nice write up by Kropo on the subject too.

I like the bit where Moto2 were cheating to get better Q times while putting their rider's and everyone else on the track at risk. Interesting that men in grand prix would try to exploit rules... oh wait, there is a new sheriff in town, Race Direction is now "independent", stuff like this will be a thing of the past.

It's a bit shocking that a company like michelin is having this problem. It's a PR disaster, especially after the F1 issue that no racing fan in America ever forgot about.
I am surprised all Lorenzo seems to be concentrating on is doing short runs trying to set fast laps. It's the first test, he has to be trying to set a psychological edge on the other front runners.
And I don't think much of Crutchlow, seems to not get along with any bike he rides, but I do hope he is right and a red bike wins Qatar.

I'm watching the test "coverage" I see according to the timing screen that there are some riders circulating, I'd like to know what's the program director's rationale for not cutting to the on track cameras. They got this ... backwards, when any rider is on track they should cut to them continuously. If they insist on having those blokes talk, why not just feed us the audio while the track cams are on screen? Even when they have a pitlane interview, if I'm hearing bikes blast by we are looking at the wrong thing. How is this being lost? It would make as much sense as if during a race the screens are on the commentary booth with a timing screen on the side. Its .........

Btw, I will say, I did enjoy the instrument panel demonstrate they presented. That was fascinating.

Not a MGP subscriber so I really don't know - but from everything I'm reading/hearing DORKNA is really dropping the ball. Yes - they only have limited cameras but if they actually used them and the CCTV feeds they could cover the track and not the hipster ......s beards growing while they exercise their mandibles... Seems so simple - what can they be thinking? Is there push-back from the manufacturers regarding testing and proprietary parts/settings that they are afraid their competitors will see?

It even worse than I'm describing above because there is no timing screen, it just shows the rider position without the lap time. Only occasionally do they show it. In the last 30 mins they've been at the Gresini garage in Italy having Dillon Gray, the commentator pretend to build a GP bike. When I click on the "live timing" button it prompts me to buy a app for an additional $20. I don't get it.

Agree. Mick, are you following timing somewhere? Btw CS just went 3rd.

Edit CS just went 2nd behind Lorenzo. On his 4th lap, haha. Jesus this kids is amazing.

After Stoner completed 5 laps he pitted, seemingly prompting Rossi to get off his ... and post a fast lap.

That's one of the off season shows they released. I gave up watching the test. I can't watch two asshats anymore.

I .... you not Dylan Gay is on the pitlane explaining how calipers work while you can hear bikes blasting by. He actually has to raise his voice when the sound drowns out his voice.
