Pointless, but at least honest Curve .

Hawk. You keep talking of static balance things, I ask you to think about this:

A flywheel is just about the most perfectly balanced machanical thing you can get but ...........

hows the gyroscopic forces on a flywheel ?

Get it yet?

Ok Another secret message to Ducati.

Stick your old engine L90 on a turntable at constant revs, fire up the engine and measure/log the drive torque for the turntable under many differing operating revs of the engine.

When done try varying the turn speeds of the table and even accelerate and decelerate the turn rate.

Then put a tilted back engine on with the V centred, and test that.

HBM make some nice torque sensors.

Surgery tomorrow

17:52 05 FEB 2012

(AGI) Bologna - The Ducati Team's American rider Nicky Hayden will undergo shoulder surgery tomorrow in the USA. Hayden observed that "another operation at the beginning of the season it not the best news. New tests have shown I could not have driven the motorbike at my best in Sepang, but I am glad I tried because at least we are aware that the shoulder problem is more serious than we thought and we can now deal with it quickly. This is par for the course in my job and I will try and get fit again as fast as I can." . .

So much for Haystack testing at Jerez in a few weeks.

So we're going from vibrations, chatter induced by loss of grip to gyroscopics effects of the lightest combustion engines on the face of the planet. The bike just has new balance and geometry, that came straight from Duc. The forces generated by reciprocating pistons in combustion engines are called primary and secondary inertia forces and I already showed you the formula and why a 90 degree engine like the one Duc uses is very balanced in both yaw and pitch. There isn't any unaccounted for magical .... going on that hasn't been noticed in the last 70-80 years of engines. Some one at Ducati finally said okay go ahead and scrap the L engine layout as it's taking up to much space and making our bike ..... with these front tires. Soon enough some one will photoshop a picture of the new and old Duc so you can see that they changed the geometry and balance of the bike.

BM, ur degree is in ......... U must have graduated top of ur class.

That's it Jum, you are getting just a wee bit too stalky for me, from now on you can address me as Professor BM! A title I have not gone by for years, but hang it! you are a very naughty boy ATM Jumkie!

So do you want to add something useful Jum? or just being resentful?

As the Ukranians say .......... Jumkie є піхву

Go and at least do an Engineering degree Hawk. You are talking crap.

You are living in fantasy land, I obviously didn't invent anything that I said like you did, much less try and take credit for solving the problem. Ducati knew what they had to do, it just took them an utter failure with 2011 for them to pull their heads out of their ....

I don't know what it'll take for the same thing to happen for you, but I hate to see you wasting your talents in the web when you can be on a used car lot making some money.

Thats cos you didn't solve the problem and I did.

Maybe ......... it depends on whether it worked or not.

But seriously, its a topic of some interest to me. Especially when it includes an L90 engine, a configuration I have never had a lot of faith in, and what appears to be a long term unknown. And i believe you overestimate Ducati.
