The rounds at Jerez, Estoril and in Germany are all labeled "Subject to contract," with doubts especially strong about the Portuguese and German rounds of MotoGP. Estoril has still to sign a contract with Dorna, and given the extreme austerity measures in place in Portugal, the circuit is unlikely to receive much assistances from the Portuguese government.

That quote suggest that in the past, governments have been paying a portion of the sanctioning fee.

Hardly surprising that portugal is bankrupt and leeching off the rest of europe like Greece just to stay afloat is it. Times are hard and i cant see any government wanting to spend on something like motogp, especially the UK.

dorna doesn't give a .... about germany,i wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a german round next year.who says nürburg or lausitzring will pay?and those 2 don't have sachsenrings attendance...

i thought as long as dorna would maybe give a helping hand to bradl i could pretend that the nürburgring is as good as sachsenring but slowly i'm getting turned off.

i'm off to wsbk

Newsflash, Dorna just bought them.

While Nurburing may be a decent choice I'm not so sure about lAuschwitz. It has a lot of history behind it that much is sure but it also has a lot of drawbacks.

The one positive is that it has a train that drops you off right at the facility. Other than that it has a large barbed wire fence surrounding the whole property. You are not allowed to come and go as you please. Once your in your not leaving until you are finished. The security is as tight as any place as I have ever seen. They are on top of everything.

Ive also heard a lot of complaints from the particapants about the facilities. Their seems to be a great deal of problems with the showers.

This is a place that favors the Italians and the Japanese. They should have no problem getting on here.

They also have their own in house medical staff. From what I've heard their treatments are very unorthodox and seem to do more damage than good.

Dorna has become like a maniacal dictator. Whats clear to everyone is that although some tracks may

be a bit tight with their money, that is in no way a reason to eradicate them permanantly from the schedule

I cant decide if thats witty and funny, or completely out of bounds.

wtfs wrong with you johnny?lausitz and auschwitz are really far from being homophones and jokes about auschwitz?i mean, really?

Anyone see where Dorna set this weekend as the date for entry applications of 2012 Moto 1. Apparently, some teams who had little to race for, were going to sit this one out . Dorna said fine, if your not at Motegi to hand in your entry application for next year, you will not be eligible. Now im sure some of these teams were probably using the radiation as an excuse not to go and save some money, but i think that is a little underhanded by Dorna. If people are genuinely scared, and they have every reason, { see Indy car series greeted with earthquake at Motegi today}, they should be allowed to follow their self preservation instinct without threat of banishment. The area is unstable, period. You can walk through Washington DC at night, and probably make it out alive, but its not the smartest thing you will ever do.

They obviously need to divest themselves of events like sachsenring that have been competently run for years, going by current events.

You just never now the circumstances that can rise up and change your fortunes from day to day. Look at Aragon, last year it was voted event of the year on the GP calendar, this year, they cant get the lights to come on.

oh fuck1n hell. Me and Arrab were thinking about a little trip to the ring next year. Great circuit and awesome attendances. Lets drop it

The joke that you have missed is that Dorna is being compared to a dictatorship, and they are shipping the sport around wherever they please (particularly to highly undesirable venues) at the expense of it's wellbeing to suit their grand plan, despite that fact that everyone on the outside knows damn well it's the wrong thing to do.

This was rather my point, sachsenring has been run for over a decade with large attendances and no mishap like the power outage at Aragon. Aragon is admittedly not a good example of a "bad" new track, the track layout etc is good, but whether due to a problem at the track or the local power grid I extremely doubt such a power outage would happen at Sachsenring in Germany. Taking away the only race from the most (?only) economically successful country at present on the european continent in favour of further races in Spain or whatever seems unwise. Losing FP2 in such a manner apart from compromising the race particularly for those most in need of testing, ie ducati, presumably didn't enchant those who are the major sources of dorna's income ie TV stations, other media outlets and their audiences, and their subscription customers including me, to say nothing of the paying customers at the track some of whom may have travelled from other countries, seemingly usually the last priority for dorna.

I dont think he missed the uptake, its just some people dont find comparisons of genocide to be particularly funny. Comparing people or organizations to the Nazi's is a bit over done these days. Every time someone doesnt get their way, or feel hindered in their quest for happiness, they compare their detractors to Hitler. It trvializes an event that cost 60 million lives. Getting your welfare check cut, or being asked to contribute to your retirement plan does not compare to the holocaust, neither does a bike racing organization ....... around a schedule for money. I didnt take any particular offense to it, but i can see where some would.

Godwin's law applies anyway.
