Sachsenring GP Race Discussion

Mancard is his.

the fact that he finished the race without re-injuring the leg is good enough for me, podium or not.

Congrats to the podium finishers and a special one for VR

Rossi would have had it except he tried a backing in/braking in method he read about on the net whereby you skid the bike round the corner to hang the back out for the other kids watching on the sidewalk

Stoner would still be crying now if Rossi had put that move on him. Thank god Rossi's back to put the fun back into Moto GP.

I think Pedrosa is actually a more accomplished rider than Lorenzo -- technically, if not psychologically -- and I would love to see him on a Yamaha, the bike (I think) that would suit Dani best. Pity it is never going to happen. But Lorenzo has a great bike he knows how to exploit fully and, I must say, he has improved a lot mentally, he keeps his cool now: he settled for second and it was the right thing to do. But he should be careful, because the engine rule is working in Honda's favor!

Stoner and Rossi -- the best part of the race. It was heart-warming to see the two best riders in the world fighting it out again. Rossi seemes to have a wake-up effect on Stoner, immediately as soon as he was passed by #46 he remembered he's Casey Stoner and improved his lap times by 2-3 tenths, was able to stay with the Doctor (actually Doctor House now!) and eventually pass him in the same last corner where Gibernau pipped Rossi a few years ago. Not the best corner in the world for Valentino, that one
<

But a great, brave performance from a man in his physical condition. I've never seen Rossi so happy for a 4th place, after being beaten at the last corner! After the race, he even faked to be angry at Stoner for "dirty tactics", and it took Stoner a few seconds before realizing that Rossi was actually teasing him...
<
Anyway Laguna is next Sunday, so the teasing may not have been so casual after all.

Bring on Laguna...

I do not think so. Sachsenring is not Lorenzo`s favorite track, but he managed to get 2nd. He said he needed to adjust his riding style because of many slow corners. I think Pedrosa can be super fast only when everything works out for him. He is still very fast rider, but not sure if he can be consistently fast for every race. It is interesting to see Dani vs Stoner next year on Honda.

Randy had the worst weekend. Rossi just came back, and Randy had to be away for a while. Hope he will be back as soon as Rossi did. The Moto GP needs him.

Unbelievable bad luck for depuniet. I havent seen any footage showing his actual off going up the hill as the camera seems to start capturing the incident after he's left the frame - wonder if his engine let go as the thing seemed to be on fire before the others guys hit it... Also lorenzo should have known better than to keep his bike spewing oil all over the braking area in qualifying yesterday - that injury to depuniet yesterday probably had some influence over this accident

I'm not sure that you're not sure, In fact I'm quite sure that the only sure thing in motogp is that you can be sure that the sure handed Pedro will surely not ever be consistently fast enough for most races but most surely for at least 3. Surely after 5 years of the same pattern you have to be more sure than not sure.

Rossi could easily have taken him, its just that he was checking out the Ducati for next year or he threw the race for Ducati's sake

Stoner must keep you awake an aweful lot

He was ballsy, wasn't he. Considering his now confirmed move to Honda

- I have to say - I'd like be a fly on the wall later today when Stoner is watching

the replay of the race - watching the way Pedrosa stalked Lorenzo and went for it.

Couldn't believe Depuniet's bad luck and the Dorna schmucks not allowing Bautista

to ride. What an asinine ruling by the officials.
<

And yes... Rossi was ....... mind-blowing. There's gotta be some serious head-scratching

going on at Yamaha - wondering what the .... have they thrown away. After that performance

- I really wouldn't be surprised if Lex's theory about a separate single man Yamaha team for

Ross in 2011 came to fruition.

Congrats to Dani, great race from him and also very different as well normally he clears off in first couple of laps but in this race he was patient behind Lorenzo for half the race and then he passed him and cleared off. Sensible ride from Lorenzo to bring it home for 2nd place but real fun was the battle for 3rd place between Rossi and Stoner. I think Rossi thought Stoner is not gonna make desperate move in the last corner thats why he didn't cover that corner fully and paid the price in the end, it was very aggressive move from Casey but in the end this is racing.

Announcer mentioned that Lorenzo is already down to three engines. And the Hondas appear to be holding up very

well. But hell... even if Lorenzo has to start from the back of the grid - with the attrition this great - it won't be much

of an obstacle for him to slice through to the front.

Also... it occurs to me; if Lorenzo has to start from the back on a new engine - does that mean for just the first time

he uses the engine? Or does it mean - he has to start from the back for every race he uses it in.

And what if he only uses the new engine for FP and QP but races on one of the old engines?

Wow!!!! What a day, gutted for RdP but the 3 and a half aliens were superb! Good call on the ManCard Curve.
