Round 12 Silverstone: Practice, Qualifying, Race

Could be it's on account of Dovi being last year's model. Or Nilo just wanted it more. Dovi said he looked to be on the verge of crashing throughout the race.

Doesn't bode well for Ducati though that their rider either doesn't want it bad enough, or just isn't good enough. Kind of a shame since I think if you took any of the top tier riders and put them on the GP15, it would have won a race at least in the first part of the season. Danilo did a hell of a job either way, and showed why wet races are so much fun.

I think the Bridgestone wet tyre is still based on the old hard carcass tyre with which the old bike worked best. Plus Petrucci rode a great race.

Neither he nor his team seem to be providing much evidence of being deeply cunning.

He has more justification imo for going death or glory at this stage of the season given the diminishing number of races and his deficit to Rossi in the championship. Of course if he hadn't adopted that approach in several races earlier in the season he wouldn't have had the necessity for it now.

Lorenzo got super lucky he didn't get taken out on lap 4 by one of the tech 3 boys. That was nasty.
High five to Petrucci.

Does motogp.com suck ... or is it just my computer set up?
Black screen on my macbook pro.
It worked on my ipad but wouldn't beam to my apple tv.
Youtube works just fine.

MM gifted him 2 extra points as well. I suspect he would have taken 3rd if it had been offered to him once the rain started, so 4th is almost acceptable. He now certainly can't afford a dnf though, and probably can't afford another wet race either.

Fantastic race by Rossi. The man has talent, and there is that 'Rossi luck' I spoke about. Still his championship to lose as I've been saying all along.

There is definitely something wrong with those Hondas, I take back what I said. It looks like they have faulty riders.

Lorenzo, when he went into the pit his visor looked like shower mirror. His race was over before it started. Ben Spies may have some advice for him.

Petrucci was on the GP14, or some earlier model. So maybe there is truth to reverting to the 2014 models of bikes, they seem to work better, right Marc?

Dr. No, if I had an alias, my tongue could stick out of both sides.

Looks like the Shiverstone microclimate will play its part today....
Its one thing we can predict anout Shiverstone. Im laughing because a former member (Baldylocks) sent me a pic of an absolutely glorious sunset on Friday, saying it was perfect weather.

I noticed the foggy helmet too, but usually helmets get like that when there's no air flowing. I have my doubts about Lorenzo riding the whole race with a fogged visor.

Also regarding the Duc 14 and previous versions, they always had a propensity to do well in wet weather. 2 out of 3 of Rossi's podiums were due to wet weather. I attribute it to the longer wheelbase giving it more stability in the wet.

Great points except I think Lorenzo experienced some problem rather quickly.

Btw, I know I take the piss but watching them perform in these conditions was amazing. Hats off to all of them.

Also, Silverstone served up a fantastic tense race, world class venue and 75K in rain speaks volumes of the fans.

You have to remember that Brits have a whole other table of standards upon which they judge what in their minds rates as "good". What sounds appealing when described in Celsius can often turn out to be much different when judged by Farenheit. As you know - Steven Hawkings - the great mathematics wizard is from the UK and has made quantum physics very popular in his home country and quantum physics mavens are great believers in the "multiverse" in which an unlimited number of possible universes are said to be living side-by-side simultaneously - such as one where Nicky wins 9 championships and Jumkie's best friend is Dani Pedrosa; the sort of thing that would go a long way towards explaining why the puck you ate at Silverstone would in one version of the multiverse be a tasty burger and in your version the puck was imprinted (under the ketchup) with the words "Eat This And .... Your Pants".

I have no idea what this post means, but I sure like it!

Yeah I just noticed after I posted. What a bunch of boners. THANKS DORNA.

No no no. Boners are to Stoner what Boppers are to Rossi.
Conversely if you were a big supporter of Carmelo's you be
Dorn Again.

Personally - I like to think of Dorna collectively as Pulsating .........

Given Colonel Mustard's demeanor at Brno, having seen him as dejected as I have ever seen him (with the exception of Le Man's 2006 where he bawled in a Renault people carrier after a mechanical), I truly thought Jorge might have dealt a psychological blow Rossi may not return from. Truly fortune has favoured him today, but my, did he capitalise. Here's hoping we see a battle to the end of the season as I'm keen to see if Rossi bottles it like he did last race 2006. For sure my money would be on Jorge if it came down to Valencia this year given his simply irrepressible will shown Valencia 2013. 99 controlled the flow and ebb of a race in a manner I have never seen before or since.
