Round 12 Silverstone: Practice, Qualifying, Race

Yes I think I probably can. Here's a poem I wrote only last week entitled 'Berry Berry' to be recited out loud in the style of Rik from the Young Ones:

Berry-Berry: by Arrabbiata1. (awl mi own werk)

Why see red Berry?

Think what you’ve said Berry!

the only skids that come to pass

are those delivered from your ...

...

I tried getting past this spot, but I keep busting up with the highlighted bit.

(I miss Berry, probably another member who left on account of Keshav).

Jums, here is the biggest thing about F1 to remember, Audi/VW Group refuses to get involved with F1. As long as the garden gnome remains in power, and F1's ridiculous rules process preclude the possibility of ever seeing them involved simply because the rules make no sense at all. Even better is that there are bylaws in Mercedes corporate ethics that in a reasonable world would preclude them from being involved with F1 because of Bernie's bribery deal. In light of the Siemens bribery case in Germany, many German companies have ethical standards they must adhere to, and bribery is a huge no-no. Somehow Mercedes has ignored this as have the shareholders....in spite of the obscene money they are spending on F1. This was always Dr. Zetsche's pet project. But then again, what can one think when their former motorsport head Norbert Haug somehow escaped being sacked in the aftermath of those CLK-GTR's flipping at Le Mans.

All of the other manufacturers who participated in F1 got burned badly by the whole thing, and will never come back. It's fascinating when you consider all of the manufacturers who were involved either as a team or an engine supplier, and how none of them will come back. You had...

-BMW
-Toyota
-Jaguar
-Cosworth
-Peugeot
-Lamborghini
-Subaru
-Alfa Romeo
-Spyker
-Yamaha

Sounds like GP.

So did Hamilton get a penalty?

GP strives to match F1 for outright corruption. F1's been doing it for a long time.

No penalty for Lewis.

How could you penalize a guy like this?

What makes you think I'm joking. In the history of motorsports I have never heard a manufacture apologized for a mechanical failure. If we are to believe that this was purely an unfortunate and unforeseeable mechanical failure. then why would Honda feel compelled to issue an apology. I've watched Nicky Hayden grenaded at full speed, Colin Edwards get napalmed mid corner, Spies , (well we could go on forever about his gremlins) had a catastrophic tire failure doing 180 on the Highbanks of Daytona during a Dunlop tire test. I never heard any apologies to those guys. Honda spent the entire 80s feeling up graveyard and paralysis wards due to their ...... three wheeler ATC design. Did you ever hear an apology about that. Their tiptoeing around Stoner and he still gets pissy because they want their own employee, (whose only job is to give feedback on race bikes, )to give them feedback on race bikes. The guy is three years removed from racing. He's barely relevant to HRC at this point other then for marketing purposes
What on earth is your point?, other than that you don't like Stoner of which we are all somewhat aware. Do you think any of the riders you mention, or anyone else, would be happy about suffering multiple fractures due to such a basic mechanical problem? Were the guys who spent 2 years complaining about the deficiencies of the Ducati and all of this year complaining about the Honda stunt doubles rather than Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez themselves? If Honda are having to manage any petulance it is from MM who has been trashing their bike to all and sundry all year whilst riding it fairly stupidly as has been discussed on this thread at length.

This whole thing would seem to amount to little more than gossip, but I actually consider it unlikely that Honda would offer him a wild card, and quite understandable if he didn't want to take one, after having suffered these injuries on top of not having been a regular competitor for 3 years. Even if totally recovered he wouldn't have had the opportunity to get many riding miles up,

Even apart from all this it seems to have been mainly Honda making the running in terms of him testing for them etc hitherto rather than him making any demands on them.

One thing I do agree with is that at the age of nearly 30 it is increasingly unlikely he could make a comeback, which is why the most speculative part, about him going to Ducati, would seem particularly unlikely, as I can't see Ducati being competitive without concessions in the short term.

We're sorry the user you were replying to will no longer be joining us as he has been banned.

again.

They don't seem to be much in the business of banning, no bad thing imo,
They don't seem to be in the business of explaining either. But I'd bet money Keshav was involved as he clearly is the forum self-appointed self-righteous nanny and snitch.

Out of curiosity, why ban people when there aren't that many people posting?
Kesh, would u like to answer this question? Frankly I would like to know where the line is that was crossed. Because certainly that line has been crossed here on this forum if not this very thread hundreds of times.

I really don't see the need to ban people on a forum created solely so that opinions can be posted and debated. I understand some take it a bit further than others but nobody is forced to read or participate. SuperM was opinionated clearly but WTF, if you participate here you are volunteering to get called out right or wrong.

Spot on. How about deleting the offending post and a warning. We used to have a system here where you would get 3 warnings and then be banned.

Who is leading the championship again?

As I'm sure Yamaha don't want Casey Stoner anywhere near their bike, 1-2 in the championship 8 wins for the year, not been off the podium for eons etc....No 1 bike, two best riders in the world at the moment. One of them is closer to 40 than 30.

Only problem with Ducati is they still haven't caught up despite the concessions-once that extra fuel was removed they've been Farcked, I'm sure they don't want Rossi, Marquez, Lorenzo or even the 3 years removed hormonal aussie on their bike until its well sorted-which may never happen.
