i think its called "bias"...

polls like this are not stupid, but they are pointless... about as effective as argueing about your favourite colour, or which page of the kama sutra is the best....

... and Rossi was on a factory bike with the best team in the paddock (in his first year) compared to an LCR satellite bike ... yep, that's that's comparing apples with apples!

OMG, sorry, I forgot that second is important ... just like the last rugby world cup! Lest we forget!

I think it cuts both ways logically. If rossi not winning can be explained by inferior equipment so can stoner not winning, given that both have now proved themselves capable of winning world championships. Admittedly over a period of time nature tends to balance and the best riders end up on the best bikes and vice versa, with the possible exception of the unfailingly loyal such as kevin schwantz, and as krusty actually said 5 world championships is hard to argue with.

Stoner first got on a competitive premier class bike when he was 21, then immediately won the world championship. If someone wins on an LCR honda at any age or at any stage in their career , I will immediately proclaim them as better than agostini, lawson , doohan and rossi , let alone stoner. Stoner presumably will now have a chance on good equipment for a few years. I personally doubt he will win 5 world championships, for reasons which include him probably not being as good as rossi, but as I have said previously why don't we wait and see?

It was a quasi factory bike. What is the definition of quasi? Bloody near.

I don't think rossi's credentials can be disputed however ardent a stoner fan one might be. The idea that no-one else in the future, whether stoner or someone else, can ever be any good if motogp racing lasts for 2000 years can be disputed.

i dont think the factory bike, sat bike made that much difference back then in the 2 stroke days, it was about the rider and who could stay on the thing.
