I think he can, but even Rossi has said that Stoner might need to ride a bit more aggressively.
But then, if Casey has ridden long track he should know how to ride aggressively.

Of course he can but depends on the bike.
I think he'd beat him on the Ducati but not the Yamaha for instance.

However I don't understand the need for a poll unless your only asking non Vale or stoner fans to vote. It isn't half obvious who they are going to vote for is it?

Yamaha M1 - Michelins or Bridgestones - Stoner will not beat Rossi on this bike.
Honda RC211V - Stoner will not beat Rossi on this bike either.
Ducati 990 - Things get a bit interesting. I think it will be a toss up... 6 out of 10 for Rossi.
Ducati 800 - Stoner wins. Again and again and again.

I think the poll is a decent poll. It basically gets at is Rossi better or Stoner. I think Rossi is a better. Stoner has closed the gap. This year will tell the tale.

I think Stoner will push to hard and Rossi will follow as well. They both crumble under the pressure and the title is up for grabs with Hayden and Pedrosa getting it on for the win.

(ahh... you can only dream)

I'll diito your post but add:

Kawasaki Bridgestone Stoner to beat Rossi
Suzuki ... I can't see Stoner getting any "meaness" so maybe Rossi .... and even then both would be midpack.

Actually I also want to change the Yamaha /Bridgestone combo to Stoner to beat rossi especially if Burgess stays. Stoner would turn the yam. into a real "mongrel" and clean up. Funny thing is I think Rossi has spent so much time making the yam so smooth, I think it is hiding some of its good points, and we have forgotten that Yamahas were "mongrels".

The Honda 800 ..... its no early 990 and its way away from the 500 hondas which were the meanest beasts out there.

so no vote as its a strange question ...... it ignores too much.

I'm not sure that we have any "long tracks" per-say here ..... we actually used to calll dirt track or flat track .... "Short circuit" racing years ago.

In any case Stoner never made it to seniors here so he would have only ridden smaller tracks I would have thought??.

I live within a few clicks of the circuit he cleaned up all those titles here in his younger days .... and thats a minibike track!!.

Not only "can" Stoner beat Rossi, but he already has beat him. Stoner will beat Rossi for the championship standings but Rossi will win many races. Yet, my money is on Hayden to win the title.

i think its pretty sad how fans follow a world champion just because he is world champion, so what happens to you maggots this season if stoner doesnt win???
move on to the next???

on equal machinery stoner would never beat rossi, without the ducati stoner is a crash test dummy and what a dummy he is...........

if stoner wasnt on a duke last season ....would he.....be......world champion
nope.

could stoner have one the title on the yamaha ......no way in hell

if rossi had the advantage casey had last season he probably would have one every single race.

stoner is a good rider and very fast but you clowns are acting like he is a chosen one.

and rossi could adapt to the ducati what ever state its in and i think he would beat stoner on that to...

stupid thread obviously a world champion is going to be chosen over rossi or any rider because of so many ........ fans that play follow the leader......

Yawn..........this has been done to DEATH........new season just ahead now, pointless thread.

What does that tell you?

you mean those who voted no are wishful thinkers...

what makes you think Rossi could win races on the Duke, or Stoner on the Yam come to think of it!

its about time people stopped thinking of Valentino as an unbeatable racing god, some of the others are every bit as capable as him of dominating, take Stoner for example...
