In 2008 Stoner was on the podium 11 times, 2009 - 8 times, 2010 - 9 times.

In 2008 Stoner finished 2nd in championship, 2009 he finished 3rd and 2010 he finished 4th, can't you see study decline in performance, having said that i think Stoner fifth place in championship would have had more podiums and at the same time more DNF's as well. I think Stoner left the Ducati just at the right time.

Some claim the 2009 Ducati even with a CF chasis was very competitive, and if Stoner had not missed races and struggled with illness............. who knows but it wasnt clear the bike went backwards. This is supported by having no crashes in races during 2009. 2010 was a problem and I agree with L8Braker the most obvious cause would be Bridgestone not suiting Ducati.

Then following up your post with this....

is rather hypocritical scotty.

Suggest we put a lid on this "discussion" now please.

As JB has mentioned, Stoner rode it like he was going to cone off. Stoner was new to motogp when he jumped on Ducati so didn't know what a good bike should handle like so he rode it differently. Why the .... would Rossi ride it like that, he knows what a good bike handles like so is trying to get the Ducati to handle properly.

Stoner rode a 1000cc Honda - I'm sure he knew this wasn't like it was meant to be.

But he found a way to ride it fast. Yes it was risky, but he won a lot of races on that 800cc Ducati

Hmmm,

The bolded bit, the capitals, the shocking spelling, the irrationality, the insults, the nationalistic fervour.....

CSAWCV??

BTW, for those who don't know, I am an adopted Aussie with dual citizenship, and I love "God's own country".

I go with this bit as it's my own idea too "The fact is that Valentino simply doesn't feel confident on the Ducati, as it doesn't offer him the same security he enjoyed with the M1. This lack of trust has also discouraged him from taking too many risks, as that could only lead to more crashing.

Stoner is a different type of rider though".

But i believe Stoner would have performed a lot better than Rossi on this ducati. Stoner had it in him, or could more easily adapt to riding the duc and maybe even other bikes. except his wins Stoner had a lot of podiums with the ducati. It simply should be that he was better and faster to adapt his body and his mentaity for riding the ducati. So far Rossi has never looked comfortable on the ducati in corners, and his style and results is showing his conffidence.

That article is incorrect. Stoner crashed five times, once on the warm up lap when he must have asleep or something.

Can someone explain to me because i am a little confused, why or how Randy out performed all other Ducatis and finished in a credible 8th position on a SATELLITE BIKE !!!

How is this so. How does Rossi justify being paid a small fortune for his lack lustre efforts to date when RDP is out performing the great one at a fraction of his salary.

Granted he cant bring to ducati the endorsements and spotlight that rossi can, and that may be the answer.

But is it due to the fact that he is prepared to push beyond comfort levels and ride on the edge of adhesion, which is what i thought seperated the elite motogp riders from the average club rider ???

This is also what seperates casey from vale on the duc !!

If vale is not prepared to explore the "edge" as casey and randy did and today hayden did whilst he had grip, a serious question arises about his ability and cred...

Rossi had gearbox problems and tire problem. 1+1=2

Randy had tire problems 1+0=1

Guess who had more problems?

Now, I'll agree in principle that he isn't exploring the edge of the bike, or in his own words "he's not pusshing the Ducati". But at Indy, he had some problems. And look at what resulted, he was dead last and ended up 10th because he cruised around the last laps to finish the race. And about why he gets paid more, I think you answered your own question. Plus I'd add, Rossi has a few more titles than Randy when he signed for Ducati. That might explain the pay discrepancy.
