Rossi - Today’s Racers Not Men But Children

rossi_barca_1.jpg

One occasion is inconclusive. Surely you have more pictures.

Rossi's own analysis is just dreamtime talk, a ........ attempt to portray himself as "old school" when in actual fact a good evaluation will show he is just as prone to idiotic histrionics as any of his current competitors.

Hell, I'd argue that Rossi was the one who created the "Children Generation," if such a thing actually exists. What a ....... hypocrite to accuse others....

He's the one playing "Mr. Popularity."

"Oh, look at me while I kiss my bike and wink to the camera!"

"Look at me run into the outhouse to make a Potty Joke!"

"Look at me play to the camera when I go to 'apologize' for crashing into another rider."

"Look at me, look at me, LOOK AT ME!!!!!"

He was the first I can remember to make childish threats and 'curses.' "Sete will never win another race."

This after saying something along the lines of "Sete is no longer my friend." when Gibbers started to get a little too fast. (Adults work to maintain friendships (assuming they are real in the first place) when friction develops.)

And if that isn't enough, you can always throw a temper tantrum and deliberately run your used-to-be-friend off the track when he threatens to upend your childish 'curse.'

(Urk... it's too early in the morning to write a proper Jumkie-class rant. This rough outline will have to suffice for now.

Actually, in defence of Valentino, I like the way that he keeps his love life out of the media spotlight and away from the racetrack.

Huh, Uccio's with him constantly! (OK, cheap and predictable - but not necessarily wrong!)

I desperately want Katja Poensgen to come out of retirement kids or no kids, so that Roger can wield a brolly next to her - (on a leash)

WINNING mental image, mate!

It would definitely be a mistake in regard to you as a rossi fan in particular, but not necessary all rossi fans, although I do probably get influenced by other sites like crash where things are more extreme.

I was upset live when the jerez incident happened because of the implications for stoner's championship, particularly since the move seemed so unnecessary, but I pretty much accept what rossi said on gpone, and that he may not even have really intended to pass; it was a bone head move rather than a dirty move in any case. I think stoner will still have his chance now if good enough, since there are contenders other than lorenzo and it fairly obviously won't be like 2008 with rossi, where to take points from him it is necessary to win, his worst result being second in a race you win. Part of my reaction was because I think stoner needs to take his chance this year while the going is good; like arrabbiata I think rossi will be hard to stop next year.

I then really got annoyed with the rossi fans who tried to make stoner the villain of the piece, when I think the reaction of most riders, and perhaps all riders actually in contention for the championship, would have been similar .

I have gone back fairly close to my former perspective ie acknowledging his greatness but wanting stoner to beat him
<
. As when he was injured last year, I don't really like seeing him 4th or 5th.

Nice said.

Before anything i should say, i,m not trying to be different than other fans and i have also my biased opinion but I try to stay fair to other fans and the reality. i just try not to dislike or take sides with one rider based on my feelings for an specifiek moment or race. I exactly get your point that some fans (but i dont think that's only especial for Rossi fans, maybe because Rossi has the most fans, it looks that way), become almost an enemy of their favorit's rivals when their interests colide.

I dont like to choose a side with any rider, or a spesifiek group of fans, as all riders are professional and there are more riders who are unbeatable on their own day, while they all will make mistakes and faults or talk bs sometimes.

I,m sure Some of Rossi fans dont like some of my comments which are against or not in support of Rossi and some may hesitate why i have this user name sometimes, and at the same time also Some of other fans dont like some of my comments when theyr in support of Rossi, and there are sometimes also a few who dont like my user name and that make them to dislike my comments, no matter what i say.

I think we should all remain fair to eachother, but also dare to criticise our favorites for their wrong actions, without playing the role of a saint or a teacher for other fans.

Rossi has made a lot of mistakes, stupid moves and wrong decisions in his career. He is still my favourite rider. Schumacher is still my favourite f1 driver, Warnie my favourite cricketer (after gillie) tiger my favourite golfer. All are flawed,

+1

Though in the case of Schumacher i have to say i expect him to up his game this year, or to stop at the end of this year. for me when they dont/cant perform good anymore (not by winning only but by performing in limits of their car/bike and better than their team mates), then there isn't any reason to support them in racing. But their performance and records of past will never change for me.

Yes, I agree. No excuses this year if he doesn't beat his teammate. I think he will quit if that doesn't happen, unless he needs the money.

Just finished watching the Monza WSBK round. There was a huge number of passes yet no fairing bashing. I was most disappointed. What are these guys doing? Don't they know that they are the MEN of bike racing? In fact the 2 incidents that could be deemed close to fairing bashing brought about a big leg kick and a pumped fist, both by Haga, one of the quoted 'MEN' of bike racing. It seems that the '.....' illness has infected the WSBK paddock as well. All that is left for the last of the real 'MEN' is to go and race the Isle of Mann. After all surely this is the last bastion of big boy racing.

Goaty, I had ignored this because I didn't want to bother that you are incorrect as to the facts. No sense debating if you are starting with an incorrect base. You may want to revisit what actually transpired. Use a chronological sequence, it may help you understand how this whole "....." thing actually became a talking point. You sound as if Rossi was the victim of journalist sensationalism. That, my friend, is not only factually incorrect, but your assessment would be wrong for obvious reason.

It really doesn't matter, its a bit like Austin said, it was funny when it first happened. now it certainly is being dragged on, but it didn't have the effect that Rossi originally intended, and now the target have actually taken the upper ground. Perhaps this is what is not enjoyable to you buddy?
<
I know you're desperate to disagree, but my chronology is fine (I've checked just to make sure), as is my assessment. If you care to read properly I was alleging not that Rossi was the victim of anything (I know, again, you're desperate to read that into what I was saying) but entirely the opposite in saying his comment was deliberate. Better luck next time old chap.

I've noticed how Rossi chooses his words carefully & uses the media with precision only when it suits an argument.

If there was a compelling reason to think so then I would, but right now as I stated somewhere else, the kids are going alright and he's under the pump.
Is that why they are punching people & crashing in flames?

Ooooh it sounds like a Moto GP press conference!!

"these guys are ......" is that why he likes jacking men up the ...? he thinks that uccio is a .....??
