The main reason I think VR would want to keep things seperate is......BURGESS
Rossi is smart enough to know that Jeremy Burgess is the King maker.
With a combination of Jorge's talent and Burgess's guidence Rossi would be right to feel threatened.
I'd be keeping Burgess's genius to myself too.

JB is Rossi's chief mechanic and as so they share data with the team mate and the lease team, but when they are out there testing or racing there is no time for that and JB is dedidicated to work for the rider he has worked for the last 9 years, separation or not would not change that one tiny bit.

I don't see a reason why Rossi shouldn't have a wall between himself and Lorenzo if he so desires. Yamaha is smart enough to cater to Rossi's every need if it's within their means, they would be stupid to go against Rossi's wishes. Isn't that the reason why Rossi jumped ship from Honda to Yamaha to begin with? Underneath that happy-go lucky image of his lies a fierce competitor and he'll do all he can to stay on top. He deffinately views Jorge Lorentho as a coming rival for next year, so I don't blame Rossi at all if he's not to share data/garage with him. I believe Jorge will adapt quickly to the bridgestones from the get go, heck he did so in his first few races on a new bike/tire package in the 08' season so I don't see why he can't do it in his second year on the bike.

I was reading some Lorenzo quotes from testing on Crash i think and he quite openly said that he was riding the new bike and trying some of Rossi's settings, so perhaps the wall is in fact more of a physical thing than a wall for information afterall.
