Last year VR was a hell of a lot closer in points to a championship than he is now when he blew his gasket. I doubt he truly beleived himself that he could claw back from 43 points before Aragon let alone now. Nothings impossible ... Marc could crash and be injured but that could happen to any one of them. Its Marc's Championship to lose and he can already taste it.
We probably agree then, I am happy to put it down to a one off brain snap
(?"losing his mind" as David Emmett put it I think), with only Jerez 2005 in any way a similar incident over his long career imo.
My point is that it is hardly outrageous bias/completely unwarranted assumption on the part of those suggesting it to opine that he might do again what he has done once before. It would be stupid for him to "repeat the scenario" as you say and he is very definitely not a stupid man, but at least some of the mindset which he had at the time would still seem to prevail going by the interview with Suzi Perry, and he was tacitly endorsed by both Yamaha and (in the opinion of some) uncle Carmelo, cf (I paraphrase) Carmelo's we all know what happened and VR's let's go to my motor home to discuss how I was screwed.

Rossi actually makes some humble comments about his following in Misano. Whether he meant it is another question. I am suspicious of his words, anymore. It is very sad to see a multi-millionaire with enormous success even now, sound so irrationally bitter. I only wish I could be so unlucky and abused as you Mr. Val-whiner Rossi.

He really needs to let that .... go. The fact he is still going on about it tells me his perception of the entire thing is skewed and genuinely believes he was hard done by. I also think all the Area 51 talk at PI was what he actually believed rather than him just playing mind games. If they where mind games that backfired on him, I doubt he would still be brining it all up when everybody else has moved on.

It's in the lad's DNA. I reckon he's already thinking about how much he can crush Vale's spirit before the end of the season, with a mind to assuring he will not be starting the 2017 season with much in the way of confidence, despite having got rid of Lorenzo. Can't wait to see how long, it at all, he plays nice with Vinales next year.
Also contemplating whether or not Ducati can squeeze out any real improvements other than just more HP.
I wonder if Marquez and/or Lorenzo can sue for libel or defamation? It could certainly have an affect on their future standing and earnings.

I don't see the grounds they could stop them on. Bringing the sport into disrepute is what Rossi is doing/has done. Marquez and Lorenzo clearing their names by way of a lawsuit is the opposite. Not to say DORNA wouldn't apply pressure just that if they Marquez and/or Lorenzo wanted to go through with it, it would be pretty hard to stop them.
On the one hand, too bad the interviewer didn't shoot back with a hard right, something to the effect of : that's quite a charge you are making there, how can you back that up?
Then again, it was more comical to let the preposterous claim just swing out there in the wind, with nothing to save it.
