Mich has had 2 years to sort out tire issues...2 years in a row they've been ........along with the M1...how many handicaps do you homos want Rossi to have.....a guy, even as good as Rossi can only do so much....... the tires...i want good racing....bring on a single tire rule!

Please my ...,they finished 1st,2nd,3rd in the championship last year.Your argument doesnt hold water.

So V.R. hasn't had any tire/bike issues the past two years then?

Actually 1st and 2nd, but still a weak argument saying the Michelins sucked in 06.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(povol @ Oct 19 2007, 12:50 PM) <div class='quotemain'>
To start with,i used to be a Rossi fan,no more.
2nd,he's not simply switching tires,he turned the sport upside down with threats to get his way and Dorna played along.BLATANT FAVORITISM.
3rd,Moto Gp is about competition, tires included.Whiny ..... obviously doesnt like competition. He didnt even bother to try to fix it
And last but not least,Stoner didnt just switch rubber,he switched teams that happened to run Bridgestones and neither was supposed to do .... this year.I hope and pray the Yamaha flat out sucks so i can here the little ..... make more excuses.

1. who cares

2. he turned the sport upside down?? what are you talking about? last i checked, Stoner is the champ and it looks like there's no rule coming. how does rossi wanting stones turning the sport upside down? do you know how many riders changed teams between 06 and 07? did gresini honda "turn the sport upside down" when they went to stones? what favoritism? if you're talking about the single make rule, how is that favoritism? at most, it levels the playing field... if Stoner is that good, he'll be champ again, no worries.... if Rossi still has it, he'll be champ... the cream will always rise to the top.

3. it's pretty obvious that any sport is about competition. is SBK not about competition? however, SBK and F1 have a single tire and maintain their respective levels of prestige. by your standards, Stoner is the whiniest ..... of all because he bailed on a team that gave him a chance at a motogp ride and he turned his back on them for ducati... instead, he should have stayed at LCR and "bothered to try to fix" things there, right? what a whiny ..... Stoner is for leaving LCR for Ducati.

4. i hope and pray that everybody out there has the best machinery and support possible so they can ride to their limit and we can see who the best riders are. maybe someday, you'll want the same thing.

Its an issue because Rossi didnt win the title, but by some miracle the same tire won the title and only Rossi's god like skills enabled him to place second.Maybe it was set up problems or riding style.

exactly right...the Yam might be the issue...along with Rossi riding beyong what that combo can take....so .... it...let'm use diff tires..if it makes the racing better....why should we care?

i say .... it...bring back the old tire rule and 990s.... cheers.

Ask Pedrosa and Hayden if Rossi being the only one getting to switch to Bridgestones is not favoritism. You Rossi fans are so transparent, you go about this crusade in the name of competition when it is so obvious that all you want is Rossi back on top.Why did Stoner leave LCR for Ducati.UH.let me get a crayon and draw you a picture. When you are on a sattelite team and a Factory team comes calling, thats usually a no brainer.Oh,and the reason there is no rule coming is because 1 guy got what he wanted.Even Dorna could care less if everybody is 30 seconds behind as long as its not Rossi.Anyone with any sense at all could follow this whole soap opera tell you at the end what this was all about.

My guess is Rossi actually is lighting the fire under michelins ..... to get them back into the game. He would be taking a step back like Burgess said in the way of settings running bridgestones.

Edit: Sorry i didnt read that Rossi had a deal.

BTW povol, stop stereotyping

you should get your facts straight before getting all wound up mate. pedrosa asked for bridgstones and it was bridgstone who said they would not supplie any honda's and may not even supplie yamaha, nothing to to with favoritism at all. its all about business not about the riders.
it more of a corporate thing between companys. honda probably dont buy enough road tyres from them or something. geez some of you are getting you knickers in a twist about nothing. who gives a .... whos on what ....... tyres as long as we get good racing.

I think its frustrating for some of us (non rossi fans) that he can use his position to get whatever he wants regardless of everyone else, when the people we may or may not support aren't given a thought. Its an awful lot of fuss for one man when your looking in from the non-Rossi camp.

Maybe you should get yours straight. At first Bridgestone said they were at full capacity and coulndt take on any more teams. When threatened with a spec tire they all of a sudden had maybe room for one more rider. You can kid yourself all you want but this has ABSOLUTLEY nothing to do with how many road tires someone buys.It is all about Rossi. If it was just one rider they could take on,why was it Rossi, why not Lorenzo,Pedrosa,Hayden. They all would have jumped at the chance im sure.

It is all about Rossi.

If you were Rossi, and you knew that if you complained and bitched enough you would get your way, you would do it. He doesn't care that it isn't fair or that his team think its a bad idea, he is convinced its the reason he's losing and he wants to change that.

If you were Bridgestone, and you knew that if you didn't supply Rossi with tyres then there would probaby be a one make rule (which nobody wants) instead its a no brainer decision. It's Rossi afterall

I'm just upset for Lorenzo. It's unfair that Rossi has the 'stones, and Lorenzo cannot use Rossi's data, as it is his first year in MotoGP.

Agree 100%
It's pretty obvious who is running the show now isn't it.
Personally i don't give a fat rats what tyre he's on because if he thinks it's all tyre issues he's having and not Yamaha issues he's going to be in for a shock again next year. What Ducati and other teams would be pissed off about is they have done all the tyre development work for years and then when Vale has done nothing. He wasn't asking for a different tyre when Bridgestone's were terrible a couple of years ago now was he? heck he wasn't even complaining last year.

Well one thing's for sure looks like I'm going to be cheering Nicky & Jorge on Michelin's next year. Wouldn't it be ironic if Michelin kicked arse next year.

Man you guys really want to keep Rossi at bay. Its a tire swtich thats it. Lorenso should just do what hes been doing and hell be fine. You guys are just mad(i really don't know why) that brigedstones are the better tires and Rossi might use them in 2008.

You Rossi haters please show some facts, links on this.

when did Rossi say he was going to change MOTOGP to a single tire rule if he doesn't get brigedstone?
You don't think it was Dorna? You don't think the win margin between 1st and second and third had something to do with it. Dani almost 30 seconds in Sachsenring. Stoner..20 seconds in laguna. A track where Nicky Hayden has won in the last 2 occasions.. where was Stoner on Laguna the last 2 years?????

This proposal came out because the tire war is getting out of hand.

Take the blinders off mate.
No one is denying Michelin are struggling this year. What isn't right is one guy can demand a tyre who is not his teams technical partner and get his own way. Ducati have done all the donkey work along with the other Bridgestone teams to get Bridgestone to be competitive. Now Vale will come in and say thank you very much. I have a feeling all the Bridgestone teams are going to be up in arms about this, not to mention Dani, Nicky and Jorge and the other Michelin riders.
The fact you can't see they are bending the rules to accommodate the rider with the most fans says a lot about your impartiality.

By the way it's got nothing to do with being a Rossi hater because I'm not.
The guys one of, if not the greatest rider of all time.
However that does not change what's going on here.
