Rossi gives up on 2011 title?

stoner had surgery for a ......l infection?

sorry dude a stomach issue and actually going under a knife are not one in the same.

You are right, a serious stomach issue can kill you. A sore shoulder, not so much.

although it could cause you to crash...which could lead to your death...lol

wasn't stoner diagnosed with lactose intolerance or something?

The specific diagnosis was never really shared with the public. Lactose intolerance was

supposedly part of the problem. Chronic Fatigue and allergy issues are not nearly as

well understood as the public would like to believe. I speak from experience - after

years of dealing with the same issues. None of the many doctors I saw over the years

has been totally certain what the problem was or what exactly effected the (more or less) "cure".

I think it's a bit too early to make any predictions. Unless something horrendous has happened to the Yam over winter, we know Lorenzo will be fast. I'm not quite so sure about Stoner. Yes, he's talented and made the Duc his own, but I just keep thinking of his pre-Duc days when we ran sweepstakes each race to guess which lap he would be on when he chucked himself at the scenery! Randy now has that honour...

Rossi does like a bit of a mindgame now and then so I tend to take anything he says with a pinch of salt! Maybe he is being honest, maybe he's getting his excuses in early, I don't know. I can remember when Stoner took a few races out the media whipped up a frenzy of 'no top sportsman has ever come back from such an absence and been competitive' - and he proved them wrong. I hope he comes back as good as ever. The last thing the sport needs is an even more decreasing grid.

You sound exceptionally sober, reasonable, and grounded, for a Rossi fan.

Hrrm...I'm jumping in late as usual..

I think he is just trying to keep expectations low.As already said here.I think he suspects he could have trouble adjusting to the Ducati till a few races even.Even if he sais the shoulder isn't going to be 100% till then i think it's more the adapting to the bike that might need time. The healing of the shoulder might be harder to cut short than a broken bone but i'm sure he can do it some how anyway. That he seems to be an expert at.Adapting quickly(Stoner-quick) he is not an expert at though.

Speaking of that,Jumkie, reading Rossi interviewes after the silence, you were absolutely right.(In another thread)He didn't go fast in Valencia because he didn't adapt.Ofcourse the shoulder slowed him down but as he said himself he didn't adapt, who knows how much the shoulder really did.(Although your main point was,why haven't Ducati done the big changes before Rossi joined,if i understand you correctly)

As Stoner has said, and which probarbly all the riders know,to win the title (especially now )you need to be on top of things all season otherwise it's really difficult, and Rossi maybe realises there is a chance he will not.So chanses are maybe smaller.
