i really do doubt rossi gained anything significant from having access to jorge data. but i do think jorge won't do as well this year if its every man for him self.

To be honest with you, i don't think it will effect jorge much now because they already got plenty of data from last two seasons to setup his bike unless conditions changes completely on the race weekend compare to previous years.

No argument there. My point is simply that Rossi has such good development skills that he doesn't need to kill himself by putting in lap after lap to find what he's looking for. Not like a Nicky Hayden for example.

Sure i'm in hopes that Ben "Big Texas Gunslinger" Spies is up front and takes it to them all..but if Rossi is on song no one can touch him..its been proven time and time again.. some just cant see reality or have not been into the sport long enough to see i guess.

We'll just have to see. Your basic point that historically being rossi-good would seem likely to be rare is undeniable, but you never know, and just taking the last 2 years lorenzo and stoner have been able to touch rossi in multiple races even if he has been peerless overall.

I think comparisons with toseland and his early gp form are not valid as ben's approach is obviously quite methodical. I think ben's achievement last year in wsbk was unique, and imo his form in wsbk was much better than toseland's who had a much lower win ratio, although he admittedly had bayliss to contend with, and the bike judging on early indications this year is nowhere near as exceptional as he made it look. On the other hand someone rossi-good might have been expected to have less trouble with mladin, but it also seems that he continues to develop as a rider.

Spies will be nowhere this year! you seem to be not thinking about stoner, lorenzo, pedrosa, dovi all very good young riders who you seem to completly forget about!

As for the whole Jorge/Vale thing, i dont think your giving Lorenzo enough credit. He is a double 250 world champion. If you read his book you will see that he loves to develop a bike, and he is more than happy about the Rossi wall. I maintain my point that Jorge has got under Rossi's skin and Rossi doesnt like the fact that Jorge is as good as him

What he like or not is not the issue, he still has to prove he is good enough to develop a big bike.
The Aprilia guys never had much to say on the development. Most of them are 17 y. old anyway.

That rossi doesn't like the situation is a given. It IS unusual to have two true title challengers in the same team and two strong minded ones doesn't make it easier. Rossi can be given much of the credit for the M1 success and has invested many years in that bike. To have someone fast using the bike he developed is a hard pill to swallow, but it's doable. What is not acceptable to Rossi is Lorenzo having influence on the development of the bike that Rossi has made the most successful Yamaha ever. Lorenzo demand the power to change the bike and that could take it away from where Rossi want to go.

That's surly annoy Rossi. I know I would have been mad as hell.
Does Lorenzo get under his skin? I think that last interview at Sepang clearly showed who's worried.
