I just hope he gets on something he can ride next year. I have no great love for Lorenzo as a person per se, He's a great talent who gave us some thrilling races. It's a shame that he doomed himself to two years of ignominy. I don't see much reason to dump on him. The price he's paid for his hubris has been a huge one.
Actually in his own words..."it was crazy to leave Yamaha, but it would have been crazier still to stay"
93 will start from p4 tomorrow, 3 place penalty for riding slowly on the racing line.
Because this is exactly what we need - put him back a row - what could possibly go wrong?...
As has been mentioned, this is so commonplace in Moto3 that riders are to be relegated to the back of the grid. You can imagine someone new in race direction suggesting doing the same to Márquez then realising what he's just said post Argentina as all the heads in the room whirl round in his direction and Mike Webb just shakes his head.
But that's the thing - although it's the most physically exacting bike to ride, the RCV reminds me of the weapon that it was in 2015 and before. When Márquez in this form is so much faster than the rest of the field (4 seconds a lap at Argentina) we have a return to the situation in Moto2 - only with 270bhp 1 litre motorcycles.
Yesterday Tito ran slightly off line in practice and Marc went aggressively under hm - yes Rabat left the door ajar, but this was an illustration of Márquez's obscene approach speed - honing in on the same section of track, both going for the apex.
The incident with Viñales reminded me of Rea and Davies at Assen last year and was absolutely avoidable. Rather than put him back on the grid, they could apply a time penalty to the race, but with Pol also offending it all becomes a bit messy. Remember when we used to have aggregate race times for a restart?
Márquez will likely run medium front hard rear today, where I doubt whether those that gained advantage out of the softs yesterday will be able to usefully run them. Marc will quickly .... of, the pack will soon be broken within a few laps and the yawnfest of COTA will be over for another year.
The first three races are anomalies. I expect Márquez's dominance to be less pronounced given "the start of the ground war"
Rainey. W (1989) ...sorry, I mean, once the season begins proper in Jerez.

What exactly is a point-and-shoot bike?
Usually an excess of power and torque allowing the rider to brake deeper into the corner, square it off, pick the bike up and gun it down the straight. Going back, World Supers were often demeaned as being point and squirt in comparison to the greater finesse involved in two stroke GP which was more about corner speed and narrow powerband.
Today MotoGP also has one powerband...only it spans the entire rev range!!
