93 will start from p4 tomorrow, 3 place penalty for riding slowly on the racing line.
In moto 3 it's a 12 place penalty for the same thing!

So right next to Rossi? I'd love for Marc to say "boo" to Rossi. In the scary sense not the type of boos he got in parc ferme today.

When was the last time Race Direction gave a grid penalty for dowling on the race line in 'MotoGP'? Frankly I wouldn't bring up moto2, then you'd need to explain canet. Looks to me like the inconsistency continue. They're building their case to eventually ban Marc, I'm sure they gotta keep Rossi happy, afterall, they're under pressure to "protect him from Marc". Curious, did race direction also issue penalties for Q1?

If you live in a glass house don't throw rocks.

Which in itself is part of the issue ............ lack of transparency and/or consistency with penalties.

IMO, it is all the one sport, run by the same rules thus the penalty if it is to be grid places should be 3 across all classes, 12 across all classes, back of grid or whatever.

Once you start applying same penalties and that penalty is seen to be applied, then people do start to think a little more about the result of their infraction but, the over-riding aspect is that so much becomes a judgement call (was it deliberate/accidental - such as Canet) as opposed to a rule of fact (jump start, breach track limits etc)

Was it not Rossi himself a few years back which earnt him the first point so would have been 2015?

Think it was one of the Asparagus brothers baulked

1 point on license. So no "grip penalty" then.

Speaking of Espargaro, did RD issue a penalty for him Q1? Has DMG taken over Race Direction?

Paying attention goes hand in hand with respect.

Perhaps you begin to understand how fans of other riders have felt for most of the Rossi era, during which Rossi and even more so a substantial element of his fandom ( I don’t group you with them btw) have given zero respect to most other riders, particularly other winning riders, including multiple world champions.

The irony continues to pile up. After ignoring the precedents of “this is racing”/LS 08 and Jerez 2011 in calling for MM’s head last race, it will be really amusing to see the Valeban go to town on the dawdling on the racing line issue, an issue Stoner again was pilloried over for considering important.

To be fair Jums, if my memory serves correct the 1 point was a written penalty within the penalty system thus they had no other alternative than to issue the point.

Not sure on Asparagus but then, he is hardly newsworthy to the racing media as he is not mentioned unless he mentions himself or gets involved in further twitter arguments

Meh .... Asparagus on an Aprillia ..... the definition of "daudling".

That or rossi cornering at Argentina lol.

Maybe you sniffed too much glue as a child.
The new harsher penalties were agreed upon yesterday.
It will be difficult to assess what effect any glue you may have sniffed in childhood yourself may have had on your cerebral function unless and until you actually reach adulthood.

Marc should auction off the pole Tissot to the charity of Butt Hurt Rossi fanclub.

First corner of the race will be interesting. Rossi is bound to try and get up the inside of Márquez...
Apparently there’s been a first corner incident at every single COTA MotoGP race, according to BT Sports!
Just a racing incident...

Race direction is looking to ban Marquez for anything.

There's currently a standard for the rest of the grid and then there is a special standard for Marquez. Anything he does tomorrow that falls outside of that standard will be another penalty or even ban.

As Jum said and I agree with this, RD is trying to build a case against MM for a race ban because of Rossi's whining after Argentina. That in itself is disgusting. Rossi has ruined MotoGP with his toxic ......... ....... 39 year old has-been can't handle racing anymore and thinks everyone should move aside for him when he leaves doors wide open at corners because he can't figure out where the apex is anymore.

Karel Abrhama crash .......... fast - https://streamable.com/9oks3
Warning - the commentary is ....

Interesting as well that whilst the prattle is about MarkyMarc's 3 spot penalty - Pol gets one but nobody cares

It means that the system is working.
The new rules that the riders agreed to means the same punishment to all riders, across classes.

That said, probably most people didn’t even know of Pol’s penalty because whatever he did wasn’t on TV. I only learned about it 20 mins ago when I was reading up on the news.
