The big interest here is how night racing effects these riders. If the track is cooler, it will help the bridgestone runners.
How far into the night is the race being run? The track will stay warm for a while but desert air gets cold at night affecting track temps.
That said I think it will be between Rossi and Stoner for the top two. Third could be a real battle.
BTW are they doing all the practice sessions in the dark or a mix?
1 Stoner
2 Rossi
3 Hayden

Race start at 2300.

If it started at 23.30 and finished at 00.15 would that class as an endurance event by running over 2 days ??????????

1.Hayden
2.De Puniet
3.Vermeulen

But that's my pick for pretty much every race.

?????

I was kind of thinking that myself.

Now that the era of lighted motorcycle racing is upon us, I wonder, in the future, if we will be saying " oh, [insert name], he was only fast in the dark"

Or "he allways fell asleep in the dark"

Stoner has already said that he has had experience racing under lights, so it shouldn't worry him.

Here is the schedule for the Qatar race. If you go to the MotoGP site, you can toggle it to your local time.

edit to add. So I did that and it is wrong. Why am I not surprised to find that that site has stuffed up. It has the correct time of day, but has forgotten to take it to the next day.

This one will be a good race. I will like to see the bikes under the lights. Hmmm... who's good here. Stoner, Rossi.

Rossi
Hayden
Hopkins

For qatar

Stoner
Rossi
Pedrosa

Rossi to turn the tables at Jerez the following round.

Stoner definite top three ...... don't know what place though?

the other two hmmm????

Not:

West
Elias
Guintoli
Nakano
Hopkins
De Angelis
Edwards
Vermulen ( unless rain )
Capirossi
Melandri
Dovi.
Maybe Toseland

So I guess the other two Places are out of

Pedrosa
Hayden
Rossi
Lorenzo
Maybe Toseland

Rossi is gonna (hopefully) win....

the others???? Maybe
Stoner
Lorenzo
Hayden

and...???

I dunno .. Where's Pedrosa? He's still injured. I don't think he can go into top 3...

1. Stoner
2. Rossi
3. Ummmm...closes eyes and puts finger on...damn, uh don't want to say Doveinmyhoso

My prediction for round 1:

The excuses as to why Stoner has an advantage and that advantage is the only reason he beat Rossi will start!

I agree. Stoner for qatar, rossi for jerez. After that the season starts to take shape.

Sneaky feeling..

1. Rossi
2. Stoner
3. Toseland

Clearly this is a wish, but he's won at this track so he knows it and he does seem to be fast on this Yam.. Come on JT!!

1. Valentino
2. Casey
3. Lorenzo
4. JT
6. Dani
6. Nicky
7. Edwards
8. Dovi
9 Hopper
10 CV
11 Loris
12 Marco
13 Shinya
14 DeAngelis
15 Guintoli
16.Elias
17.West
18 RDP

1) Stoner
2) Rossi
3) Dovi

I hope it rains (but hey, I know it won't) ... would love to see Lorentho at night in the rain ...

JT ... 5th!

QUOTE (BarryMachine @ Feb 20 2008, 12:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Crashy bike + Crashy Rider ???

I thought that putting down DNF for RDP and DisQual for West would be considered rude this early into the new year...

...............

I tend to agree down to 4th, even if probably Stoner will be 1st not 2nd... Pedro and Nicky should battle for 3rd and, below, I doubt JT can do better than Dovi or Lorenzo. Or Capirossi.

I was wondering, who is this Marco in 7th position, other than Melandri who is in 11th though?!
