The most predictable Qatar podium has materialized after all. No surprises...

1. Stoner 2. Rossi 3. Lorenzo

Stoner did everything perfect and when he's that fast and can race like that from the start, he's unbeatable. He's an ace. But he's not alone (thanks to god).

If the start of the race had been like last year's, this time around we would have had a Rossi-Stoner scrap. But Rossi made a bad start and lost time with Capi and Lorenzo, while Stoner stamped an impressive 1.55.8 in the very first laps!!!!
Impressive Stoner!
<

However, Rossi is fast and will fight. We are in for another Rossi-Stoner championship, with Lorenzo, Dovi and also Capi as possibe spoilers.

Kudos to Edwards, but Capi would have finished in front of him had he not crashed. Dovi also had front end problems.

Kallio 8th, a very good start.

and JT knows the track!!!

No disrespect to JT, I like the guy, but a bet is a bet.

I believe that was my Lex !!! I ll stand by it to!
First race of the season, 16 left to go..

What a absolutely .... race, worst ive seen in years. Stoner rode fab, so did rossi and lorenzo, but still it was ..... The best bit of the race was capas crash and DeAng hitting Pedrosa.
Hope it gets better.
Or I may be forced to follow World SuperSport.

Why would you be forced? Following supersport should be a given for every bike fan and since the intro of the 800's SBK\SS have produced way better racing.

Loser must write a homoerotic novella about a sexual encounter with Pinky..........and one of his Asian hookers. You can't stop until the peanut gallery begs for mercy.

Basically the more disgusting it is the quicker it will be over.

Fair enough?

Falling and slamming the best part of the race? Strange. Capper claims his tire was ..... Too bad for control tires. Nicky claims because of all the problems he didn't have a spare tire for warmup. No that is just too tight a regulation.

I think if Rossi had won the majority of complainers here would think this series rocked!

give credit for stoner for immediately pulling a 1.56 on his second lap of the race on cold tires. scrap or no scrap with loris, rossi couldnt do that or have the balls to try that

Does it have to include illustrations?

I like to take big risks, and this is my biggest !!!!!!!!

Why cant you just say the race was .... ? If Rossi had won and stoner 2nd in similar race then it to would be ..... I love racing not time trials.

It might have been a bit of a hard move, but I really hope they don't start DQing people like they did the other year, with Tamada, Hopper (I think) and Lorenzo all getting punished for moves like that.

Something happened to Dani or the bike because he seemed to be way off pace compared to Deangelis when they both entered the corner. It like Deangelis expected Pedro to be long gone from that spot when he exited the corner. His corner speed was way more than Pedrosa's

This is a strange track for rossi, because he also ran out of tyres here last year but but did not appear to have tyre problems elsewhere whilst the michelins atypically worked well here for the other yamahas.

How stoner goes in the next few races will have more implications for the championship, as these include some where he did badly last year leaving him under pressure in the overall championship situation as well as from rossi on the track. The only things I will say is that it looks unlikely he has been permanently intimidated in a "gibernau curse" fashion, and that maybe his wrist really did affect his performance in the latter part of last year obviously not including laguna seca or brno.

Still don't think dorna could organise a billy cart race for kids in their local neighbourhood and if they attempted to do so they would undoubtedly stuff up the technical regulations.

I can't because I thought is was a good race. It looked at the end of the race that Stoner easily gapped by a huge margin but he could have lost the front as he has before and Rossi could have won. Rossi rode the wheels off the Yamaha. There was some good mid pack battles and Melandri came back impressively. Hayden found something and finished okay considering his weekend. JT proved he sucked. Lorenzo finished well. Kallio was great for his first race. The midget fought hard even though he got bonked. CV did well enough and had a good battle. Capper fell but was running second which shows well for this year. Depuniet didn't fall. Dovi did the Honda proud for his first race on it.

MotoGP is a different game than just a rider series. I see a lot happening.

Well that race was pretty dull. The new tyre rule doesn't appear to have given us anything back yet racing wise, but eveyrone has the same so at least its an area of doubt crossed off and fans can believe that the results actually refelct the riders performance. I'm hoping that Dani and Lorenzo can get closer to the top two soon, although the title battle could win up pretty epic going back and forth between Rossi and Stoner, provided neither of them dominates too much. It's a shame Gresini wont have the power to give DeAngelis the equipment that Elias is on now, because i wouldn't be surprised if what we saw today wont be pretty much what we get from both of them all year. Colin did well not to fade today but its pretty uninspiring still, he'll probably wind up on a posium somewhere too, and looks good for top American. JT and Nicky both have a lot of work to do.

I think Dani just ran wide from Vermeulen passing him earlier in the corner.

De Angelis did the same thing to Loris in Catalunya i think last year with broken bones in the hand as a result:No penalty then.Things can happen when everybody tries to go their fastest.Every one of them knows that i'm sure.

the boringness factor is due mostly to the non existant spectators.

there were lots of incidents this race, but no atmoshpere to speak of.

I'd wondered how the hell he got hit that hard. Dani didn't look that slow, like if he'd missed a gear or something. It just seemed like DeAngelis's front wheel lifted slightly and he had no choice but to run that wide with the corner speed he had, and Dani happened to be in the way.
Neil Spalding said on Eurosport it was handy for Alex he was there to use as a berm, or he'd have been picking the bike out of the gravel.
<

And you gotta love Alex's reaction to it - no waved hand to say sorry, just that look over his shoulder to say "WTF are you doing???"
