<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (clarkjw @ Apr 18 2009, 04:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>The lack of battles is Rossi's fault. He needs to learn how to start.

I think it is more Bridgestone's fault and Ducati's (and Stoner's) merit.

1. It is Bridgestone's fault because they are no more offering the hardest compound that they made available before, and which Rossi and Stoner both loved--but especially Rossi relied upon it at the front end. Rossi at Losail destroyed the front tire trying to catch Stoner, and had to give up.

2. Ducati needs to be credited because their new CF frame and swingarm have made the bike so much smoother. Guareschi, the Ducati tester, after his first test of the GP09 at Mugello said: they have re-asphalted that corner, those potholes are gone!
Then he ran a few laps on the GP08 and on returning to the garage said: I was wrong, the potholes are still there!
That tells you something about the new CF frame!

3. It is to Stoner's credit because Casey is faster than ever, and even for Rossi it is not going to be easy at all to catch him, given also points 1 and 2...

Then of course the bad starts are there, but if points 1 and 2 are not solved, Stoner will take off anyway. He's just too fast.
