Yes - Stoner put the hammer down - enough to hammer his rivals into submission.

Can't argue with that, even Rossi said that he gave up

Hey, at least he said hi.

Since we are on the topic of being picky ....... about annoyances here is mine. Does Adriana have something wrong with her neck? She is always sitting with a crooked neck, that annoys the hell out of me. Watch, whenever they show her when she is siting downd she always has her necked cocked to one side. WTF is that??
i lean to one side like that when im about to squeak a fart out

maybe Stoner beats it up and that's the only comfortable way to sit

Given and Dovi's power delivery and front end problems, hats off to Hayden's riding at HRC. He put that pnuematic valve bike on the podium last season. It must have been a nighmare to ride.

Holy cow man you guys are all nuts. I mean really Adriana's neck, Caseys interviews? Man the dude won what do you need him to do? Who cares if he is a nice guy or says he was scared that Rossi would possibly pass him. Rossi lost. 2nd is the first loser. Deal with it cause I am sure Casey will be dealing with it soon enough. It is one race and Stoner happens to have that track down where most others are still trying to find something. I was glad to see some battles in the race but as far as the front runners did you guys really expect anything other that what we got. I mean we knew that it would be one of the two at the front running away like 90% of every race we watch.

just about sums it up for me

love him or hate him - Casey kicked EVERYONES ... ALL weekend

but, it's not a sprint - it's a marathon

Very strong race by Casey, He looks much more focused than after Laguna Seca races.

Rossi was no match for him in Qatar.

I think if Casey keeps it like this he will be N1 favorite for this year championship.

anyway, not a bad result by Rossi ieder, again these two showed, they are the main contenders for the championship.

nice ride by Edwards,

and also not a bad one by Lorenzo, Dovisiozo.

But I hope they dont go ahead with plans for a night race in Malasia, this one suckes enogh.

Does anyone seriously believe that this year's champion could be someone other than Stoner or Rossi? I mean, yes there IS that SMALL chance, but I think it's pretty much impossible for anyone, but these two to win the title this year.

Jorge would be the only other rider. He is on the factory Yamaha, and I'll actually place Hayden in this. But why you ask? Well, because he has won before, and the Ducati is by the far the best bike.

That call is as wild and speculative as the assumptions about stoner vs Rossi at this point. The bike looks good so far, but it did last year (if you nelected the other riders results) and the Yamaha wound up being pretty superior.

But that goes back to the rider. Physically and mentally, Casey had a cluster .... of a season. Great races, but then the disasters like Laguna.

But as Losail has shown, it was the Casey Stoner show. Yes, Casey and Ducati the last few years has made this race there playground, but if Casey has a good race in Motegi (like a win) and Jerez I think my belief will be vindicated. A big mix of tracks. Fast Qatar, fast and technical in Motegi (hard on brakes), and we all know how Jerez is.

If I was a young on and suddenly became supertalented and good looking, like Stoner, and could get a girl who looked like Adrianna ............ and she was leaning toward me in a car like that ....... I'd be mildly happy

Casey missed out on 5 points at Laguna! ,how is that a disaster? Was Rossi's second at Qatar a disaster?

I don't understand why Laguna was so special for the Rossi fans? they got far more points out of several other rounds, why Laguna?

He was pressured and he faltered. He should have won the race. He had pole and was leading when the pressure was too much.

We point at Laguna Seca 2008 and show that Casey Stoner is still a young rider. He is remarkable on the bike, but he still suffers from the rookie jitters (in his 3rd season at the time). Rossi made the pass and it completely threw Stoner off, and eventually he got into the gravel and just fell over. It's not about the points. It's about proving a point that Casey Stoner still needs to mature before he can be compared and ride with the consistency of riders like Rossi.

I just see 5 points

I'd be a pretty sad individual if I looked at Ross's poor performances during 08 and said the same ..... .......What do you make Rossi's off at Assen 08? ......... or any of the other non-firsts he got in 08? ........

Laguna was just 5 points I still don't get it
<
Stoner had worse runs at several other races in 08. Matter of fact I'd say he was doing better before he got to Laguna, than he had been, an Laguna was a pretty good result

That means Pedro will be on a Factory ride for four years, not to mention the support that he received there, an still no championship

And yet only heard small whispers for his seat, it's funny how the double standard works for some people.

I have never understood where this Stoner faulted at Laguna comes from. Every time Rossi passed Stoner, Stoner fought back hard. He was never more than a bike length away and was constantly trying to get back in front. Each time he did Rossi did an unbelieveably aggressive move to get back in front. They went at it hard for many laps with NEITHER backing off. Then Stoner ran a metre or so too deep from very high speed and had to avoid running into Rossi ending up just off the track. Unfortunately the gravel went from firm to deep and soft right on the line Stoner was trying to take to get back on and he dropped it.

Show me a racer who hasn't made the slightest of error in the heat of such an intense battle and I will call you a ....... lier. Rossi made a big ....... error in the same battle and through luck and quick reflexes from Stoner to avoid his re-entry, stayed upright. Any other rider in that field on that day who could have been at that pace (which was none of them) would of folded under pressure from Rossi, a type of pressure that has not been seen in the modern era, long before Stoner made a slight error.
