Don't take this as an assumption about how good the bikes are, but hypothetically speaking do you think their is any chance that Honda would let Hayden ride a KR chassis if it would be to his advantage, and save honda having to find ways of fitting him on their in house bike.

If the Roberts chassis is especially good and hayden had particular trouble it could be a last resort, or are those days gone now?

Not that its too important because it doesn't look like haydens having too much trouble. I know its the first day but i don't read this list as say any particular surprises. everything seems to be in order.

interesting. i never read to much into test times but i wonder why mcwilliams is so slow. good to see stoner turning out some respectable times to

at the same time Roge..you can't deny the lap times....look at the lap record on the 990.... the top 5 are under it...

seems the "Tornado" has picked up wind!

“Everything seems to be in order”, yeah, that is right, Pedrosa in 10th place… “Everything seems to be in order”, although the hole thing was supposed to be set up for him, kind off!

Its standard Dani, he will work into it gradually, he'll move up and at the end he will be fast.

I just read (on mcn website) that OJ had a pretty big stack and might not be riding the rest of the test becasue he hit his head and forgot his name

and so it begins.................

Well well well, a non-Honda bike with a Honda lump inside beats all the SIX Hondas. I expect some hara-kiri to be going on in HRC now.

Well King Kenny can be proud.

Let's see what happens tomorrow, at PI the Honda's picked up the pace as the days went by.

Ilmor, OH MY GOD, 5 seconds off the pace!

Ben we should get payed in the Fantasy league to have Ilmor in our teams!!!

Think they're all running 16s

there are many "reasons" to go from 990 to 800 but it seems like everyone was saying it was for safety reasons. ie to slow the bikes down. Now here is the kicker as I see it. EVERYTHING is about corner speed. The 990s were huge bikes that the rider had to slow down in order to make the turn, where the 800 being a smaller bike (think 600cc) can take that same turn at a faster rate.

Now where the 990s had the torque to get back up to speed and had a higher top end they still had to slow down enough to make the turns. The 800s can maintain the higher corner speed allowing them to bypass the 990s exit speeds and although they are not reaching the top speed of the 990s they definately quicker.

I have been saying this since the 1st rumours of the 800s.

I love being right.

dont start dion.

i was never expecting him to be in the top 10 but i was supprise to see him that far back but baring in mine his injurys he is only 9 sec behind his team mate. im not reading into it to much yet tho.

Some interesting results after the first day, Mcwilliams is done imo i dnt think he will be anywere but last for the whole season if he hasn't crashed and injured himself that is.

Yes i can't realistically seem him bieng faster than many people very often. And his physical condition is going to be an issue if he can't keep himself in one piece. If he beats a rider who isn't either Pitt or Guintoli i will be very surprised. he is an example of Past it, in my opinion.

‘Faster corner speed’, that is right, but don’t forget there are also some other important points like: ‘Late Breaking’, now riders can just break latter into turns.
And from my view a bigger point right now is that we are comparing brand new 800cc prototypes (a year or less development) with 990cc prototypes (over five years been developed), meaning the times should really be compared in five years time of the 800cc era. It would only be fair, wouldn’t it?
