The Marky Marc express is on schedule, with fellow competitors lagging behind - and Dani driving the caboose. Will we see close racing ala Assen again? Or will MM have the right rubber and do a Stoner leaving them in the dust. Hoping for another good show.

Marquez will be a huge favourite but I expect tyre shenanigans so the field closes up again.

It’s a race for second, I see Vinales, then Dovi for the podium.
4 Lorenzo
5 Rossi
6 Zarco
They are still saying this is the last race here even though they are contracted through 2021. We will see which side of the money grab Dorna is on . If they are on the track owners side, they will simply tell ADAC that they will not negotiate with them any longer for any future Grand Prix in Germany. If they are on the ADAC side , the track will have to decide if they want to continue hosting the race at a lose to pay the ADAC cut.

Not much to predict. Gonna be a Marquez show.

He is even more advantaged on "lefty" tracks and the Sachsenring has 11 (ELEVEN) left turns and only 3 right turns.

What track are Dorna proposing to replace it with?

Dorna hasn't proposed any track to replace the Sachsenring.

The only logical options in Germany to replace it are the Hockenheimring or the Nurburgring. I don't see the latter happening as they had/have a lot of financial issues stemming from hosting F1. I don't know what Dorna's circuit fees are but it's hard to say whether they would want to get involved with hosting another major racing series at this point. Hockenheim makes a lot of sense since there is history of GP racing at the circuit, albeit it's no longer the long straightaways and a much shortened track, but they are probably not going to be hosting F1 in 2019 due to the cost. They will be hosting in 2 weeks what may be the final race at the circuit, so MotoGP could be a great alternative to F1. The stands no longer fill up to capacity for F1 as it did a long time ago but I think if GP were there they would be full capacity. You still have the stadium section which would make for a great overtaking spot. The Parabolika gives a nice long straight before you get into the technical part of the circuit. If I had a vote I would go with Hockenheim as a replacement for the Sachsenring if it comes to that point.

For a moment there I imagined MotoGp being held on the long circuit of the Nurburgring. That would be something else.

It would be done on distance covered in the 15 minutes.

You could get two laps in within 15 minutes on the Nordschleife circuit.

But the GP circuit would be a nightmare with the bumps.

Hockenheim makes the most sense of the circuit in Germany to run at.

Interestingly enough, a quick google search of Pedrosa has this two day old article come up saying that he is set to race with morbidelli next year at yam.

As one of his biggest fans, I’m still expecting him to retire. I actually think the Yamaha would be even worse for him than Honda despite what people have been saying. Yeah the Yamaha is smoother but it is so much more difficult to get heat into the tires compared to any other bike, and considering that not being able to heat up the Michelin’s has been his excuse for lack of performance the last like 3 years, I think he’ll call it quits.

Podium prediction :
Marquez
Not Marquez
Rossi

Lorenzo best of the ducs

weather for the weekend has a chance of a light must on Friday with Sat and Sunday perfect. Highs of low 70's and sunny with little humidity for race day.

chance of a light must .
Sorry, Pov. I know that's a type-o, but I can't help but wonder if the 'must' in question will involve some form of mating season, or were you just typing 'mist' in a New Zealand accent?
Again apologies, mate, I couldn't resist it, but I didn't want you to think that I was being a d-bag either.

I raised a grammar hammer, I’m used to being corrected. Water off a ducks back bro.
