I'm not a MM Bopper. No one is! IMO, the word 'Bopper' should be reserved exclusively for VR fans. 'Rossibopper' just rolls off the tongue...

With that out of the way, I suppose I'm a bit of a 'hater.' His riding strikes me as arrogant and often dangerous. He's not a clinical psychotic like Sofuoglu, but he has demonstrated a real knack for 'accidentally' pushing people into the poison spikes from time to time. Not Cool. Hoping he'll enter the series with an open mind and will be willing to learn how to race in a sane, respectful manner.
I don't see him as being quite as good as Lorenzo was when he entered the series, but he's close. I'll predict a similar first-year trajectory; plenty of crashes, plenty of weeks where it doesn't come together and he finishes among the Ducati mob, and probably a half dozen podiums. No wins, but wouldn't be willing to bet more than a beer on that....
I'll give him 6th on the year.

I was going to say fourth but you may be right. I think he will beat bradl, hrc kit or not, if he doesn't crash much, but as you no doubt considered bradl won't be a rookie, and even rossi and lorenzo and to a lesser extent pedrosa, and stoner as well for that matter, did crash frequently in their rookie years.

I reckon a 3rd is possible. First half of the year he'll be learning how to tame the beast and just keeping the front runners in sight. Towards the end of the year we will see him regularly on the podium. 2014 he should be fighting Lorenzo for the title.

i think you should always have the other riders in mind. if marquez was to finish 3rd, that would mean he'd be in front of either a factory yam (no way) or pedrosa (not in his first year).
5th, maybe 4th if bradl has inferior machinery and marquez is lucky(or as in bradls case smart) enough to not hurt himself while learning the bike

shows what bollocks the argumentation of the satellite team owners is that the expensive part about having a rookie come through is the loss of sponsors.
they need 5 bikes per weekend if the kid wants to be fast from the get go

I got 6th too, but he could make it to 5th - assuming he doesn't hurt himself, of course.
There is no way he is going to last a race on the animal that is HRC Honda. His strength isnt there.
Put that against trying to pass Crutchlow who wont let the 12 yr old pass him and you got a reciepe for some big ... crashes.
Imo i think his going to hurt himself within 5 races.
