They should switch to 32-17-13-12-11 for the first five positions instead of the current 25-20-16-13-11 to improve the risk/reward equation for trying to come first.
A BSB/NASCAR style Showdown/Chase would also be a bit of a laugh so why not? Dorna might be all for it as it would (probably) keep Rossi in with a theoretical sniff of the championship until the last few rounds.

From memory with the changes to points rulings in 1991 and 1992 it meant if they were to reverse the rules from those two years or use the previous years rules Mick Doohan would have won either one or both championships in those two seasons giving him a total of 6 or 7 world titles.....food for thought. I think in one of those years you could also disregard your two worst results...I may be wrong as it was a while ago now.
I think the current points rules are best....leave em alone. Maybe an extra point for pole but thats it.
