Nicky Hayden injured

.... thats some damage, looks like the hard bit at the top of the screen has deformed.

Get well soon Nicky.

They say the head and chest injuries are severe. Not a good sign on the head injury side of it. Just a question of what the brain impact is.

Severe brain injury is defined as a brain injury resulting in a loss of consciousness of greater than 6 hours and a Glasgow Coma Scale of 3 to 8

I think this will be a long recovery either way, and hopefully he comes out of it okay. Details being a bit short still, I hope this is not at a Schumacher level of injury.

He has been moved to a specialized Trauma Center in Cesena where he's being operated right now.

The street really is more dangerous than the track. You can't demonstrate it much more than this incident. From 200mph motorcycles to a bicycle. Terrible story. Poor guy.

Oh, poor, poor Nicky, how unlucky...
I`m lost for words, I wish him speed and full recovery...

I don't mean to be morbid here gentlemen, but after the Michael Schumacher accident, among others, I think we may need to start preparing ourselves for an unfavorable outcome here. I hope that is not the case, but hearing the phrase severe head injury was enough to lower my expectations significantly. I don't expect to see him racing a motorcycle again. Hopefully he will be awake and able to walk on his own two feet eventually.

It's also being reported he is in a medically induced coma.

I suspect that's precautionary, but I don't know what to make of it.

Also he's out of surgery and in intensive care , these types of injury are not always life changing, he may have luck on his side, I hope so.
