hi all,

i'm tim, big fan of motogp, not a bike rider on the roads, ex MX racer. now car racer.

after some advice please,

myself and a few mates are going to the mugello motogp, staying in florence and hitting the circuit sat/sun.

wheres good in florence to go out in the evenings? how does we get to the circuit from florence?

and any other tips would be awsome.

cheers!

Hey man welcome aboard... I live in Bologna and hit both mugello and misano religiously being they are only about 1hr from my home... In Florence, you really cannot go wrong, there are some many bars and good restaurants, plus if you've never been there you will spend lots of time wandering around checking out all the historical aspects. In terms of getting to the circuit, the best thing is to rent a streetbike...so you get to enjoy the road that takes you to the circuit. Also, its always super packed getting out and will take you ages in a car. Even on a bike it takes me hours...

So my suggestion is rent yourself a bike...then cruise and you'll run into the world on bikes that day. its awesome.

Motrix' advice is very good, I subscribe to it.
I may add, if you have a choice and are not obliged to be in Florence all the time, try to sleep as close to Mugello as possible for the three nights of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Look up the Internet for places, there are many small hotels in the area.
You do not want to hit the road for any distance longer than 10km after the race on Sunday evening, if you can help it. And night life up there in the hills during the race weekend is, well, unbelievable
