Came a cross this little video and thought I would give it a new thread as the Mugello thread has gone quiet

The video is a #46 fan and gives a little insight into the atmosphere surrounding the track

The video is all about the atmosphere and aside from the yellow clothing and #46 cap, it is NOT a hero worship video of any kind and is actually quite well put together

What is it squids get out out of tapping sport bike engines off the limiter. Dumbest damn thing and you see it every where you go.

Dimwits doing it should he stripped naked and gently lowered, knackers first onto the glowing exhaust of the bike that they're caning the life out of.
I think their screams would be much more entertaining...

Nothing wrong with a bit of exuberance imo , it's seen everywhere because it's part of the culture.

I remember being on the campsite at Donington for the British GP in the early 90's,this ........ in the tent next to ours had brought his brand new FZR1000 exup in a transit van,so, as part of the evenings entertainment he proceeds to unload the spanking new machine, unbolt the silencer, fire it up and hold it on the limiter to the delight of the large encouraging crowd gathered around,oh how we laughed when it decided enough was enough and .... itself sending bits of crankcase and con rod into the pissed up crowd.

And hopefully Yamaha told him to .... off after taking a look at the ecu data.No sir, warranty does not cover stupidity, we will give you 2 grand on trade.

I was at Mugello a while back and those fellas have fiat engines on carts with a megaphone in place of the muffler. But the coolest thing I saw was a kid pushing around a baby stroller with a chainsaw engine in it. He's rigged up a throttle cable so he could gun it as he was pushing it around.

Another memory of the GP campsite i have is of the bonfire's everybody would light in the evenings, anything and everything flammable would go on them, there used to be a row of toilets on a raised platform, the sight of about 20 people of both sexes all lined up one morning and taking a dump minus all the doors and partitions in full view of around 20,000 campers will live with me forever,i couldn't bring myself to it and had to hold on to my .....

I can't begin to tell you how much craziness I have witnessed at Road Atlanta. Entire ports potties torched , just ruined around green smoldering blobs of green plastic, dudes taking their bikes into the indoor camp showers and doing burnouts till there is black rubber covering all the walls, guys would go to the pits and steal blown engine blocks made of magnesium and throw them in a fire which would then light up the back portion of the track like daylight. Road A is a unique track where you can cruise around the inside of the track and it gets wild past midnight with burnout pits every 20 30 yards. They would bring gallons of bleach and if you didn't do a burn out when they poured bleach, you might not make it out alive. I could go on and on as it was like this every year I went for the last 35 years for all different kinds of bike and car races.
