The 40min BMW fight was really spoilt by the weather, cold and rain. Half of the grid crashed in the same spot. But it was obvious Yamaha was light years ahead of the rest.

The Dukes seem aquaphobic, none of the riders where near the top at any time. Honda were quite lost too.
Hopkins was the only Bridgestone rider to show himself a little.

Those Dunlops seem to work fine in cold wet weather, Ellison was fast at the begging, Checa also until he crashed.

Congratulations to all of those who've got Rossi & Yamaha in their fantasy league team.

yea i know, i was watchin it live. that's alright tho as long as somebody beside's rossi took the car.

Pity about the weather,

Well done to the Tornado, and what an encouraging ride from JE ( love the livery BTW)
<

Hopper was unlucky and so was KRJ even Rossi slipped up or slid away...

Pedrosa I didnt expect much being a non wet weather rider.

Pedrosa did the least laps of all (just 9) he didn't even try the soft wet tire. He didn't enter the fight, he probably would've crashed, and I guess he doesn't want to get injured two weeks away from the first race.

Probably a smart move by Dani.

And well done Edwards! That settles it. He's my top rider for Jerez, and until Meladri's Honda shows signs of picking up.

Yup, Richo right now I think Colin will get more points than Marco. I think now Colin is a bargain.

Ellison really only had one good result in preseason, at Catalunya.
Would it be fair to say that a lot of you Brits are thinking with your heart when it comes to Ellison?

I am not I think he will rack up points from 10-15 very often now he is on a M1

The Tech 3 team is the bargain of the game right now. Thus far, Mat Mladin seems to be right in saying that Dunlop tires are solid when under the right rider. Carlos Checa seems to be THE right rider for the lops.

Colin Edwards seems to have perfected his riding style of the winter and he looks very strong for 2006. Thinking about having him, Gibernau, Melandri, Hayden, Capirossi, Pedrosa and possibly Checa at the front battling for victories at every race is very exciting.

As far as James Ellison goes, it's too early to tell. He showed me a lot last year aboard the WCM but his tests with the Yamaha have been relatively unimpressive. Then again it's hard to look impressive when your teammate comes from nowhere to challenge the factory team and world champion on the time sheets. I'm pulling for him but he is going to have to beat a reborn Checa to prove his worth to the major players in the paddock.

It's not just Checa. Ellison's spent more than his fair share of time at the bottom of the timesheets this season, on a bike that his teammate regularly takes into the top five. Sure he has a few good days, but overall I wouldn't call him impressive.

Checa is on fire but James Ellison will be on fire once racing starts

Good ride from Edwards, totally in the zone. The confidence that he's talked about is there to see in abundance. Colin looked as neat, as composed and confident as I've ever seen him. If he's that happy on the bike in the dry we're in for a lot of fun this year. Hopper showed his class again and Kenny wasn't too shabby either. I don't think Carlos can be consistent enough but it'll be good when he's on it.

Good to see Honda AND Rossi getting beat!

Well, someone watched it live, didn't they?

Yeah, Colin's style change is really working for him. he's fast and confident. He might be able to hold onto his top five spot against this years rookie assault, or maybe even move up a bit.

There was a time when those two events could happen simultaneously.... pity they never really did
