Fun fact #1:
Lorenzo won the championship with 330 points, the same amount that he got in 2013, where he lost to Marquez by just 4 points.

Fun fact #2:
Rossi lost the championship at Valencia by a 5 point margin, the same margin as 2006 when he lost to Nicky Hayden.

Fun fact #3:
The only two riders this year to finish every race in the points were Bradley Smith and Valentino Rossi (Smith's worst result was a single 10th place, Rossi's a 5th). Dani Pedrosa finished every race he participated in but unfortunately after crashing in France he was only able to muster a 16th place finish.

Fun fact #4:
Alvaro Bautista finished all but one race this year, and only four of his finishes were outside of the points (he had to retire in the opening round in Qatar because of a collision with Marc Marquez resulting in mechanical problems).

Fun fact #5: Of Marquez's 18 races this season;

6 retirements
5 wins
4 second place finishes
3 points scoring finishes

Lap charts for MM, JL and DP from Valencia

Just to add ....

The Valencia charts - http://resources.motogp.com/files/results/2015/VAL/MotoGP/RAC/Analysis.pdf?v1_7092d17a

The Indianapolis charts where it is has been said MM tried the same stalking tactic with a late pass - http://resources.motogp.com/files/results/2015/INP/MotoGP/RAC/Analysis.pdf?v1_1d849898

Laps are very similar in behaviour ..................... to the theorists as one was way before any conspiracy was mentioned :)

Mate, I assume you do that for every race? If so, can you share csv versions on drop box or something? I can scrape the web page but if you've already transcribed it... I can probably knock up an interactive web page of it.

Well that's another season over. Didn't watch the race, couldn't really care who won, the season was killed for me around the last race.

I'm just left with a bitter taste, that the top 3 motorcycle racers in the world are twats. Rossi, who I have been a fan of since day one, has ...... his legacy up, his last chance to take the title, and he puts himself into the situation of a verbal war with Marquez. For all the conspiracies about Rossi, I'm not aware of him temporarliy blinding himself by riding into another rider on a slowing down lap. His "race craft" at Sepang was shocking, and while Rossi was a ... to get involved, why was Marquez riding like it was the last lap of the championship, and the 2 riders were racing for the title?

Marquez, has pulled some pure madness on the track, but , he is the Golden boy of the Spanish backers of the sport, and always comes out smelling of roses. Lorenzo could have kept his mouth shut last race weekend and taken a dignified title, but no, he now looks like a petulant child.

Feet of clay the lot of them, I'm sure I'll be buzzing for the new season, but, as a lifelong race fan, I feel cheated right now.

if Rossi had raced MM In Sepang to get third and avoided the penalty he would be world champ starting last yesterday fooked him,

he cost himself the title fairing bashing paint swapping is what its about
and now he's trying to turn press fans etc against MM and JL

Its not working

Wtf you talking about? My boy never won and is ....... riding childrens toys and selling hamburgers back in Texas lol :( lol

It was interesting to watch post race and Lorenzo’s press conference. Lin Jarvis has no objections to the MM’s explanations about the Valencia race, and Tsuji also thinks it was fair race and PI race was one of the greatest race. They are fed up with Rossi’s whining. He and his boppers should accept the fact he lost fair and square and move on.

Lin Jarvis comes off as a guy who loathes whinging.

Says the guy standing on his head wearing his grandmother's prom dress.

Prom dress my .... I'll have you know that is a limited edition bespoke, hand screened, four-color, artisanal T Shirt printed on finest virgin Indian cotton promoting a legendary music store that caters to the the musical elite from all over the world. :D

I thought it was a Lorenzo top, you learn something new every day!
