So everyone on Powerslide is allowed an opinion, but a guy who has been racing since he was thirteen and has nailed a MotoGP ride doesn't have a clue?

Sorry, think you're talking ......

You might be misunderstanding or I may have written it badly. I didn't disagree with Alopecia-man's point about JL leaving the door open, what made me scoff was the implication in BS' s statement that he had something to teach JL by virtue of his time in Moto2 and 125s. Perhaps it's just my interpretation. And yes, he was asked but...

Much like the prematurely bald ginger's and distended armchair experts that doubtless populate racing forums such as these, specialising in telling a four times world champion how to do the job or spout on about how to fix the Ducati and associated 'VSG's'.

Personally, going by the view from where I'm sat in comparison to a seat on a Tech 3 Yamaha, I'd sooner give credence to Bradley's observations.
Read what I just posted to BJC. and speak for yourself on distended.

It's your interpretation. Always thinking the worst. Smith didn't think he had anything to teach Lorenzo, he was more implying that the standards of behavior are entirely different in the lower classes (as anyone who has attended Eton will surely be able to tell you).

And, my dear bacofoil friends, I had an interesting chat with someone on Lorenzo's side of the garage about Rossi's salary. The individual involved was keen for me to believe that it is Dorna who pays a large part of Rossi's salary. I have no reason not to believe him.

I've been real busy this weekend (apart from still recovering...I suppose), just now catching up on the forum .  I got to see the race last night, I can't wait to hear some of the reactions.  It should provide some good entertainment.  I'm quoting this above for posterity, as there is much ground to cover.

Oh ....!

Cue Jumkie in 3......2.......1.......

Ha!  Krops picked the perfect moment to admit the Dorna- Rossi marriage.  I think he planned it this way since Thursday, coming out  with this information, then providing a bit of diversion by asking The "Gay" Question, and on a race weekend no less.  I'm almost sure he even put MarkyMarq up to power-bottoming up the inside of last curve to further distract us from the truth about Dorna pumping  backdoor deals that landed Rossi on a factory Yamaha.  Not to mention Hector Barbara making the CRT podium.

Savvy man!

BTW Jumkie, pull your head out of your ... and focus!

You're running days behind the forum. That's un-sat friend.

Get up, watch the race, argue with friends....anything less = ZERO effort. We've come to expect more from you...

Yeah.... watch out. Before long J4rn0 will be starting a thread titled "What Wrong With Jumkie?" or Mad Mick will start a thread titled "Is It Time To Frog March Jum To The Betty Ford Clinic." or gui22a will start a thread titled, "Will Jumkie Ever Win Another Argument? - Going Back A Few Threads. Peeps'll be demanding you give up yer factory seat to a younger member.

Kesh, that is very very funny dude, had me in tears.

Jumkie to the Betty Ford Clinic, oh man  :drunk:<span style="font-size:14px;

<span style="font-size:14px;Anyway, I have viewed all of the evidence and I have changed my mind.

<span style="font-size:14px;Marquez did it deliberately and is dangerous and should be banned from being small.

<span style="font-size:14px;You see by using everyones vignettes and Mario's lines from "paint" I have determined that the gap Lorenzo left was big enough to drive a ....... bendy bus up the inside<span style="font-size:14px; and make it unscathed.

Okay there was the part where Lorenzo turned in, but if it was a bendy bus with a huge KFC ad up the side of it he just would have given way, because it was a little motorbike ridden by a little rider Lorenzo said to himself "I'm an old lady  I'll run this whipper snapper over". From experience I know that the old lady will blame the motorcycle rider (Marquez) who should have been in a bendy bus.

He would have taken exactly the same amount of notice of Lorenzo in each case.

Therefore it is all Marquez's fault and as leader of the Marquez bandwagon we apologise profusely to those all butthurt and will try to get more KFC advertising on track for Lorenzo in future.

Is it "Standards" or is it that opportunities for these types passes are more frequent in the 'lower' classes?

Until I see Bradley going for gaps 'a lot smaller than that' while lapping somewhere top 6, my opinion will remain. Meanwhile, his first point of order is not finishing behind an ART.

Even though your point is quite ridiculous (and hilarious), it is valid. If Lorenzo was truly in fear of his life, he wouldn't have turned in. I think the bump ended up being a bit harder than he expected - he was going to try and run it alongside Marquez to the line, until the kid got all 'Vale' on him.

You would take it by storm!

Had me fcuking rolling!

Thanks ;)

The more I watch it, the more I see a racing incident. Jorge went into the corner like he was steering a boat, Marky Mark saw the gap and went for it. As previously mentioned on here, Jorge could have sucked him into that pass then retaken him on the inside. Without hitting Jorge I doubt Marquez would have made the turn. I cannae see Jorge will make the same mistake again, and I think somebody wants to speak to Marquez about potentially running into the back of somebody again.  He is an amazing rider, but holy crap some of his moves look desperate. I don't wish harm on any rider, but to quote Scott Russell, I dont think it will be too long before Marky wakes up with Dr Costa shooting Novocain up his .... And I genuinely believe that is one of the main reasons he will not take the title this year.

I agree.

Also I amazed no one has brought up the other desperate pass earlier in the last lap,

Jorge had good measure there and cut back inside.

Look at both attempts again.

They are near identical, but in the second pass after giving what Jorge must have thought enough room to cut back inside does he start to make his turn.

MM does not turn as expected but continues a blocking path.

IMO he had no intention of making the pass.

He just wanted to totally block the corner at all costs.

Edit! sorry I disagree! mis-typed first line lol

Mark saw the gap and went in extra hot hoping for the best.  I think he was ready to play bumper bikes.  The kid is very good in the race craft department as showed in his miraculous "last to first" races.  A last corner ax pass had to be in his head most of the last lap.   There were two options in his head.

Lorenzo slows, MM goes long and wide and in third place.  Rookie giving it all, no worries.

They bump at a relatively slow corner, and it plays out like the video's Mark saw of a pass just like that.

Calculated accident with a bit of luck.

"Potentially running into someone" and a couple of quid will get you a fish supper... :) Or a pie... or two.

He rides on the limit, he was crawling all over the back of Lorenzo, looking for a way round - I though it was pretty damned impressive. I wonder how many times he caught a front-end-lose?

Tell him not to ride like that and he wouldn't be the guy fighting for the podium. That's what makes him special.

He had a heck of a crash in 2011 - ruined his chance of the championship, nearly ruined any future career - I think he is probably aware of his own mortality.

What if Jorge had died?

In a 60 kmph corner?

That corner is very slow, that's why you see that kind of incidents there. Not much harm can come out of those contacts.

Marquez did have some near misses with running into the back of Lorenzo. On one at least I think he got caught out by Lorenzo going a bit slower than usual struggling with understeer.

It's something I always think Crutchlow is going to do. He brakes very late and rushes up on the bike in front, sometimes having to let off the brakes a bit and run wide to avoid them.

But hey, you can go as close as you like so long as you don't hit!

That's true, and looked more dangerous to me than the incident at the last corner.  I say 'looked' because since nothing happened we have to assume he was in control.

Not much harm?

You might have to rub your shoulder all the way to the podium.
