motoGP 2011 Rd 1 Qatar

Oh .... I'm sorry ...... I thought you were a human .....

Well I had better fill you in by prompting a bit of research for you:

Question 1: Who has won the most races in the 800cc era?

Question 2: What bike was the person in Q1. riding?

if you still can't get the answers, let me know because I can then attempt to help you use a thing we humans call "written language" .......... failing that ....... we can read a fairytale for you

10 wins of which were in what season......oh yyyyyyeah!!!

As such see my previous post re 2007 compared to 2011.....you cannot just take what i am saying in the context it is meant can you, you need to lighten up and take onboard facts which you seem to thrive off. What you then posted only serves to enhance my original point.......and you call me the ....... lol
<

How many race wins in 2009/2010.....hmmm rather a different story, and one which nuthuggers like you will conveniently sidestep to make ducati/rossi's start of 2011 look worse than it actually is.

Lets not go down this path eh?

<

In actual fact Ducati 2010 vs 2011 after round one in points =

I"ll have to go back and watch the race on DVR, but the moment where Rossi almost bins it is here....is his arm rubbing against Spies tire?

575x459.jpg

Damn, there we go again with the dirty riding. Rossi is obviously trying to slow down Spies by leaning on his rear tire. What a ....!

I had a funny thought during the race. When i saw stoner in the lead with danny following him it reminded me of the Doohan / Criv days. I thought "i wonder how long it is before the stoner fans cry dani is following stoner" after all he is the new Doohan !
<

Good start

WD Stona

Jorge better than i expected

Dani ok

Sic.Pie.Dovi. will improve

Duck are ...... simple

HRC

Dovi the 3rd rider all ready thrown under the bus on getting any upgrades

Dani will be ok till mid season then he gets the bus

Stona will get it all because Onda will says its all the bike

But of his 12 fastest laps, 11 where in first 12 laps (that is including the first lap) which tells me, there is a very drastic drop off in pace. Even when Lorenzo closed up on him, his pace was nowhere near what he exhibited in first 12 laps.

Thats not unusual for a rider to be his fastest when the tires are fresh. Anyone know if Perdo ran Hards or softs. Some guys are faster on a low fuel load, some guys are faster on new tires

All ran extra hard front, hard rear. Including Elias who you might think would go as soft as he could get given his apparent problem getting them up to temp.

Regarding Dani's pace early, remember that these tyres continue to perform and you would would think that overall handling will just get better as fuel load decreases. I for one don't doubt him. He does not have a history of bullshitting. He did not appear physically well after the race. How about we take his word for it?

IMO the lap times support that he has a problem.

Remember how nasty it got when Stoner had problems? He too appeared genuinely in trouble and said there was a problem. Got it identified (ultimately) and came back to dominate the tail end of the season. I hope it gets sorted.

It's probably a little of both. Stress can exacerbate any injury or illness and racing is a lot more stressful than practice.

The shoulder issue could also be triggered by accumulative aggravation of the injury over several days of practice.

Or he's just stressed out from knowing Stoner's going to rule the roost.
<

BTW - where the hell are Jum, Curve, Frosty, Roo et al???

I thought he did superb at quatar considering he hasn't done this good before. I'm telling you guys he's gonna be scary fast on the tracks he's good at and there are a few. He's gonna be ahead of Lorenzo in the championship I think. Well will see next week.

Right, let's stir the pot a little.

Lot's of people said that Quatar was a real Ducati track prior to this race. So if that's true....

what will happen on the real Honda tracks?

Danis lap times show no 1.3 to 1.4 loss of time on his part in one lap, Stoner just wicked it up a notch , Danis lap chart dont jive with the shoulder excuse. It looks like he was fast, got passed, pouted for a couple of laps , realized Lorenzo was coming and picked it back up. Got passed by Lorenzo and pouted some more, then ran the last lap 7\10ths faster than the previous lap

Great! So doesn't all this just tell you he obviously was having problems. Maybe we should believe you instead. :-/

The first drop off was immediately after Stoner passed him. Its like he loses focus when he gets passed and gives up for a couple of laps

This is Pedrosa's MO. That is why it is a mental toughness deficiency.

The shoulder may have been sore but it is only because he is not mentally tough enough that it became a problem.

i'm no pedrosa fan but this "mentally weak" line is ridiculous..

he shattered both ankles (at PI if i remember correctly) when on 125s and then won the very first 250 race he entered whilst still nursing those injuries.

he can get back on a motogp bike after one tried to kill him at motegi by having the throttle stick open. mechanical faliures will damage confidence which all riders need to be able to do what they do.he led stoner at qatar for half the race, not a feat that anyone else could manage this year. if thats mentally weak, then what is mentally tough?

maybe he is struggling with shoulder issues? if casey can have scaphoid trouble and rossi can have shoulder problems, why cant the brittle midget be hampered by a physical condition too? i'm inclined to believe him, why not?

as for the race, its a good sign that this season is going to be one of those classic seasons, i just hope it pans out that way..

I think many of you are a bit unforgiving when it comed to riders injuries.

I am sure Rossis shoulder is a real handicap and may never recover fully. Ask Neil Hodgson about shoulders.

I think Danis injury was real because Stoner said he decided to overtake him when he saw him struggle. ie. Pedrosas pace started to slow before the pass. Sure, it dropped more later- a sense of deflation after being passed is only natural.

Interesting article in Oz

'When I saw Dani starting to have problems, I attacked strongly. I overtook him and took the lead,'' Stoner said. ''After that I just tried to control the race.''

Not impossible - but you need to bare in mind this is shot with a very long lens which compresses things dramatically

making seem much closer than they are.

Apparently it's not a Ducati track. It's a Stoner track.
