well, Cortese's team has no Moto2 experience (as he hasn't got either) and financial backing ain't too great. plus Moto2 field is incredibly close.. at least they are committed for two years. but still i think that Cortese's title last year is as 'relevant' as Elias' title in 2010. one particular team running one particular brand of bike finding something much earlier than others do, KTM fac Moto3 of 2012 is Moriwaki Moto2 of 2010. it sucks a bit that KTM are so dominant (though they deserve it for obviously putting the most dedication into the project), but at least it's not only the official RedBull fac bikes, but also the Estrella Galicia etc. It's cool to see 5 way battles for the win throughout the whole race.
apart from Aspar, I don't think there are teams fielding bikes in both Moto3 and Moto2. I think it would mark a big step forward if those teams were existing, as this might create a much stronger feeder structure, and those teams could exploit the advantage of letting their riders cross-test the bikes, thus you could recognize Moto3 riders' potential for Moto2 bikes, just as one example of a possible benefit.
I think Moto3 and Moto2 should come a bit closer together, but also that the national feeder series have to adapt. in Spain, they immediately jumped the 4stroke train in the smaller classes, Germany have changed to Moto3-like bikes this year - like it or not, but this is the way to go. what is the use of a national 125 champion (or supersport 600, for that matter), if they have no clue of riding the bikes they have to ride in the WC?
post already too long, but one more thin i like in Moto3 over Moto2 is that they don't use standardized engines. makes it a lot more interesting and also attractive for potential fac entries who don't want to be Honda powered while promoting their brand. plus it gives young riders (and mechanics) insights into technical realms such as engine tuning etc., which are more or less left out (or in the dark) in Moto2.
anyway, Moto3 2013 is a very pleasant surprise from my pov. keep it going!
