I'm starting to think this, after the last few races. But, we'll see. Advantages can wax and wane. See Pol Espargaro in moto2.

WTF is up with the coverage on BBC IPlayer? They have what they claim to be the 'moto3 and moto2' races up, but if I play it, it's just the moto2 and motogp races.

I had to be out today, and I'm seriously worried that I'm not going to be able to see the moto3 race if they don't fix this :( :( :(

Salom has impressed me this year, just with the little edge he has, consistancy for both him and Vinales has been very impressive, but as mentioned #141 Salom has more in hand, shame for me as Im not really a fan of his, but credit where credit is due, he is doing a great job

Guess he was just winded to .....

Should be nice watching him come through from 10th tomorrow.

I agree!

Watching him crawl off the track was painfull to watch.

When the camera shot showed him in the garage winking to the camera I was WTF! ;)

Good race - nice to hear the Spanish national anthem again :whistling:  :whistling:  :whistling:

Interesting race, the championship closes up again. Surprised that Vinales couldn't keep with Rin and Marquez at the end. And I thought that when Salom got into fourth, that he'd be a factor in the race for the win. Injuries told, I presume. It's down to Rin and Salom.

Rins is impressing me. Unlike the ..... stadium announcer who mixed up Alex Marquez and Alex Rins. Will be interesting to see if he can perform consistently.

In general, Moto3 seems a little bit lost talent-wise atm. Similar to Moto2 in its first 2 years. I mean, Cortese is ok, but definitely no revelation. As aren't Vinales and Salom. Maybe Rins can take it to another level. Would be nice, I like the guy.

Rins rode a great race. I'll look forward to him going up against a fully back up to speed Salom in future races. It's always hard to know exactly what the level is in a series with nothing external to compare to. I've been surprised how poorly last year's Moto3 guys are doing in Moto2 this year. Though, perhaps they'll step forward next year with some experience under their belt.

well, Cortese's team has no Moto2 experience (as he hasn't got either) and financial backing ain't too great. plus Moto2 field is incredibly close.. at least they are committed for two years. but still i think that Cortese's title last year is as 'relevant' as Elias' title in 2010. one particular team running one particular brand of bike finding something much earlier than others do, KTM fac Moto3 of 2012 is Moriwaki Moto2 of 2010. it sucks a bit that KTM are so dominant (though they deserve it for obviously putting the most dedication into the project), but at least it's not only the official RedBull fac bikes, but also the Estrella Galicia etc. It's cool to see 5 way battles for the win throughout the whole race.

apart from Aspar, I don't think there are teams fielding bikes in both Moto3 and Moto2. I think it would mark a big step forward if those teams were existing, as this might create a much stronger feeder structure, and those teams could exploit the advantage of letting their riders cross-test the bikes, thus you could recognize Moto3 riders' potential for Moto2 bikes, just as one example of a possible benefit.

I think Moto3 and Moto2 should come a bit closer together, but also that the national feeder series have to adapt. in Spain, they immediately jumped the 4stroke train in the smaller classes, Germany have changed to Moto3-like bikes this year - like it or not, but this is the way to go. what is the use of a national 125 champion (or supersport 600, for that matter), if they have no clue of riding the bikes they have to ride in the WC?

post already too long, but one more thin i like in Moto3 over Moto2 is that they don't use standardized engines. makes it a lot more interesting and also attractive for potential fac entries who don't want to be Honda powered while promoting their brand. plus it gives young riders (and mechanics) insights into technical realms such as engine tuning etc., which are more or less left out (or in the dark) in Moto2.

anyway, Moto3 2013 is a very pleasant surprise from my pov. keep it going!

your turn for a long post.. ;) though the feeder series thing is more directed towards those who complain about the spanish conspiracy that they feel MotoGP has become. look at the spanish series and compare it to this ....... club racing joke act they perform in the states and think once again about the myriad of spanish and the lack of US riders.
