moto3

Danny Webb on pole for the last ever 125cc GP, excellent job!! Can't wait for moto3 already

Well Nico Terol is the last ever 125cc champion, and also the last 2 stroke champion. If Moto3 is as good as Moto2, then we are in for a treat!

This is awful 20 guys in a Train trying to murder each other on the track crazy mothers moto3 Assen

Utterly incredible.

So many talking points - best supporting GP I can remember since the 125 race at Valencia 2001.

It's been a long time coming Danny.

he repaid the favor a couple of laps after cortese pushed him wide

Personally I think Moto3 was the most entertaining of the three championships this year.

100% have to agree. MotoGp is a parade of bikes .

Folger looking strong again this year.

Nice to see Webb out of the 20's and getting nearer the front.

Fenati's bike is drop dead gorgeous,

quite like the KTM's too ;)

Apart from those who have gone to Moto2 and elsewhere, quite a few familiar names at the front.

The big move forward seems to be the Mahindra bike, rather than any indiivdual riders. OK, it's only quali for the first race, but

constructor-wise Mahindra has out-performed Honda. Though, it's still looking very much as the KTM is the engine to have.  The fastest bike without a KTM engine is over a second slower than pole. But then the other two Ajo KTMs are more than 1.3s off their teammate pole-sitter.

Among the top qualifiers Alan Techer seems to be the biggest leap forward. I didn't even notice him in the races last year, and only confirmed that he'd been in Moto3 in 2012 by checking his Wikipedia page.

At least the Maverick Vinales situation is stablised with him in a different team where presumably he'll be more happy.

I'm surprised how much the top ten are spread out in times. Even P5 is more than a second off the pole.

Yeah the Mahindra has moved forwards in leaps and bounds thanks to the new chassis.

Alan, I had the pleasure of hanging in the team garage at Silvo last year so knew who he was, Nice lad,

MV still don't like for his whiney I'm not racing teddy out of cot/crib incedent last year. Fcuk him!

Agreed on times, I haven't looked to see how they compared to last year but cannot remember them been so far spread ;)

Post-race, both Mahindras finished ahead of the first Honda. It's almost as if there's a CRT class in Moto3, with Hondas being the CRTs. I'm sure Honda will strike back, but I also wonder if their emphasis will be on MotoGP as they seem to be slightly on the back foot there.

It looks very much as if we know who the breakaway group at the front are, and that's where the championship battle will be.  I was quite impressed that the racing at the front was hard, but fair. Nobody knocking anyone else off, no crashing except further down the grid. Including Vinales, despite his seeming immaturity last year. (Though, as he's now in a better team, it seems as if his histronics did actually 'work'). Hopefully Zulfami will get a better start and be challenging for the lead next race.

a good race the usual suspects will be up there Great close racing again

off topic if anyone gets a chance to catch the moto3 race from the CIV Championship that will be repeated on MotorsTV watch it. it's a cracker

I'm confused. I noticed on Vinales leathers that it still says Avintia.

Expected Louis Salom to win. Was more expecting Folger to be 2nd to Vinales in 3rd, but it didn't pan out that way. Interesting race.

Motors TV isn't on Freeview. I thought it was. No Sky here, so unfortunately no way of viewing the race that I know of.
