Not everyone on here who supports Rossi is a bobber....myself included

Interesting. This is from a guy who got all bent out of shape on another post because Eagle 08 called him "slick"? Lighten up, it’s suppose to be funny.

(Can I say something about your forum persona?) I suspect you replied only because I made a witty post about Rossi. You ask me if I'm a fan of racing, but it seems that if somebody says anything about inferring some positive characteristic about other riders (like Eagle did on another post about Hayden) then it was irrelevant to you. Not all roads lead to your favorite rider Doc. So I ask you, are you a fan of racing or are you just a fan of Rossi?

FYI: I like Rossi too but please learn to have alittle fun.

notice above that I had since edited my post....trying to show you that because you answered my other post with respect....I thought better of my stark criticism......

ps. how old are you? 16? Arguements about bobbers usually circulate among the younger members here I notice.....

"Cool Bro" Ok. We are just talking about our passions for racing. I see how we can get bent out of shape sometimes. But we all want our guy to win just as much as the other guy, and we voice it. It's all good.

Damn, I can't wait for this weekend!

Go Hayden...(and Rossi too).

By the way, I'm hoping for a podium at least by Hopper.

that's what it seems like katt.....it seems to have evolved to almost a reverse discrimination......now if you like Rossi....that's not cool...you're a bobber../bopper.....god forbid you like Hayden....you must be a bopper.....

He has to be the most overdue man for a win...(next to Colin)..i wish he hadn't resigned with zuki.....could've been a demon on the duc....

man ... i brought the 'bopper' term to this forum! ... it wasn't meant to be a form of discrimination!!!
<

valentinibopper was just meant to mean an avid rossi fan and nickyboppers were avid hayden fans ... simple as that! ....
<
have i outgrown my own invention?

I didn't believe it either, but a ton of posts these days, especially in light of all the crap with Dani/Hayden...seems to be this way....

i think ill have to eat my words jared ... i think i did kinda mean it as an insult initially ... check out my post here:

#7 ... it was only after that it got turned into a joke i think ....

oh how things change ...
<

nah...I think you were making a valid point there, because there ARE people that aren't fans of the sport and take a blind following to a rider without really knowing anything except what they hear.....
its just that recently people are using that as a hedge because they don't have any facts to have a valid discussion....
<

hahaha okay then! ... hopefully Valencia will bring and influx of new discussion so people can quit beating this dead horse.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Eagle088 @ Oct 16 2006, 06:45 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>That is kind of a Micheal Jordan thing. I bet most of you guys didnt know this but Jordan was forced to retire by David Stern (NBA Commisioner). After the NBA lockout and strike, David thought that sport will have lost too many fans and lifted his forced retirement from Jordan to bring back the fans. Now you ask, "Why was Jordan forced to retire?" Jordan has a gambling problem and was caught betting on games just like Pete Rose. Stern promissed to keep quite as long as Jordan didnt fight him on the subject.

A lot of people didn't/don't/and don't want to know/ that about their beloved Jordan. But yup Eagle, ur right. Jordan is kinda like Rossi in the sense that he is a protected superstar (thats me saying this).

And by the way, his team in AMA this year grew by leaps and bounds. They finished off the season on a high note and would have had a win had their rider not pushed it so hard while leading. I wasn't a Jordan fan before, but know I gotta like the guy because he shows that he apprecciates the motorcycle racing world.

So you're the one. Well I didn't know the term existed before I joined this forum. And I gotta admit, I’ve used it allot. But I used it because I noticed that anytime somebody would say something good about Hayden they were castigated as Hayden bobber/boppers. I noticed it was usually by people who were Rossi worshipers, so I used what I though was their own condescending term as a comeback. But hey, you can call me a MotoGP bopper/bobber cuz if you meant it to be someone who adores it, then I’m certainly one.

i think were all boppers in this sense!

^ agree there.

We all have that one thing in common.

MotoGP rawks.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (frosty58 @ Oct 16 2006, 11:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>as long as theres great racing, i don't care who wins. but i rather see a new champion. i guess us non rossi worshipers will have to wait till next season....... maybe.

Yeah I agree.

Thats the main reason I am not going to watch Moto GP next season.

I was so disappointed with this seasons racing, with Rossi's dominance and no real challengers I predict more of the same next season.

Its a tough decision I really enjoy motobike racing, you all may think I am crazy and can't be a fan because I am dropping it.

But all the late nights watching motogp here in Australia, my Mrs nagging me about it and being dissapointed after nearly every race has take its toll lol.

So I going to stick with the World Super Bikes, really enjoyed this season and the racing was fantastic. Even with Baylis dominating, every race was entertaining and so many riders were fighting to win.

If you watched the last race of the season you'll know what I mean.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (pacman @ Oct 15 2006, 06:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>What do you guys prefer Rossi winning every year or someone else winning?

I want to see the most agressive best rider win.

Rossi's dominance???? are you serious? and you are sticking with WSBK? Troy won about 12 races there!!! that was dominance!, this has been one of the most exciting seasons in moto gp! amazing racing, unexpected results, crashes, everything!!!!
No real challengers? Troy had no challengers in WSBK, I just cant believe what u said, You can't be a real motoracing fan.

I'm not going to say you're not a real motorracing fan Jova.
But ed24 does make some valid points.
Bayliss dominated! This season has seen new faces(sort of) on the podium.
Unexpected results, drama, ridiculousness.
MotoGP is the best!
WSBK is going to be damn good next year too.
If only I could say "GO Barros!" But no, not to be, lol.

Of course I´d like to see someone else win it (Hayden). But if Rossi wins this year then I could say I witnessed one of the greatest comebacks in the history of MotoGP. Rossi is surely something special, we all have our favorites and biases but if you don´t believe Rossi is a unique talent then you are blinding yourself. Whoever comes out on top after Valencia will be a very deserving champion and a champion to be remembered in one of the grestest championship battles of recent memory.

I'll have to wait until the 2008 season when he switches bikes lol.
Don´t hold your breath, he´s a Suzuki lifer. The only hope I have left in that garage is that young Vermeulen learns from all of Hopkins´mistakes (re-signing for Suzuki year after year) and his own mistake (signing for Suzuki in the first place).
