The Ducati's are all ....! Esparago's interview on the MotoGP site is pretty telling. He says the bike is very hard to turn and the front fades badly under braking. This track requires considerable stability under braking and has several slow corners................it's certainly not a track that suits the GP10.

While I'm certainly no Kallio fan, the GP10 is ruining his career.

WD Dovi

Rossi beats Horney

Edwards beats Spies

all yam sec row

Kalio has been sucking everywhere bro, not just here. Agree, Ducati is .....

We may be in for a real scrap after all. Rossi's mentioned this would be the hardest track on his shoulder... It doesn't seem to be bother him to much. Lorenzo not happy. I wonder if Jorge will push for a win or wait until his title is official?

This track was build, run, and tested on by Honda. If they didn't have some trick in their back pocket here, I'd be surprised.

4/6 Yamahas in top spots.

First pole for Dovi

What? I thot the Yamaha was a lump of ....!?!

Rossi is using a new engine. Lorenzo is looking at using it tomorrow.

The speed situation is not really changed. What the Yamahas have is that, as usual, it is the best bike on the brakes. The speed trap is at a point where the Hondas and Ducatis are just beginning to brake, while the Yamahas can still wait just a few more meters (this was pointed out by ex-racer Reggiani, who knows the track well, on Italian TV).

And today Lorenzo was using the new engine too. Same source
<

Lorenzo seems to have the best pace though -- but if he wants to win tomorrow, he will have to throw caution away and sweat a little, imo.
<
Dovi and Rossi are not going to make it easy for him.

Speaking of Rossi, if he has found a good setup here, at P.I. it could get even better (but expect Stoner to be at the very top again at P.I.).

We might be in for a couple of good races.

Just to throw out a little bit of bait to feed a conspiracy theory...did anyone notice how fast Dovi was once Dani was out? It seemed to me that as soon as Dani was on the stretcher they loaded up a new map and new TC settings into Dovi's PS3 (a joke to get on board with the TC Anarchists) to allow him to run Dani's typical pace.

Kinda like Edwards when Rossi got injured at Assen in 2006.

So who believes that Dovi would have been on the front row let alone poll if Dani was still in the game?

I think this is as clear as it gets that Team Orders determine the quality of the package a rider gets in the Repsol Honda Team. Whether it is extra revs or different map and TC settings Dovi's bike changed once Dani was out.

So what does this say about the authenticity of qualifying and race results? If Dovi was the lead rider in that garage would he be an alien? It seems that there is more to the selection of the front row and or race podium then just rider skill.

Could the same thing have been happening in another team?

Usually I would agree with this, but Dovi was fast right away on free practice 1. Unless they changed that mapping before they new how serious Dani's injury was. Besides I thought the only to get the mapping out of the Pedbot was to put a usb up his ... and the other end to the bike. Ahhh blue tooth, duh.

Mundialito? Better late than never. Now that the title is settled, Yamaha may even allow it to take place
<

The mundialito is over, has been for ages. Rossi is beaten, everyone knows it.

As a Hayden fan, I'm doing a rain dance as we speak.

As race fans, i think most of us are dancing with you

This is something a bit premature to say, with such finality... Tomorrow's race is still open, isn't it. As are the other four remaining races. And after 2010 there will be 2011... Better hold the big statements...

Nothing that happens from now on can change whats already happened this year. We can go on chosing arbitrary races to compare riders but there will always be a condition or a circumstance or something to make it not entirely fair. Thats the nature of the sport and thats why there is a points system that clearly indicates how Rossi and Lorenzo rack up this year.

Agree, and it goes past just team orders, it goes all the way to the top of the series. As more people talk [former riders] about the inequities of fair competition, the more this sport looks like a European version of WWF on wheels. If the semi uninformed fan gets it in their head that its a contrived competition, Dorna could find themselves in serious trouble. Its a damn shame that the series, sponsor, or team management can decide if your going to be a star, instead of your talent. As it stands, series like Nascar are a bastion of fair competition compared to GP. The inner working of GP is an ugly mess, just like F1.

The sport is 60 years old, i don't get why people still struggle with this concept

I dont struggle with it, but its still a damn shame. I just wonder how many people that sit in the stands, really follow the sport like we do, really understand how this game is played, and, how they would react if they new the truth.

Its not really a secret, so i think people who want to know those kinds of things would easily find out. Casual fans who aren't bothered will be happy just to take things at face value. I don't think it's a shame though, the influence of money and machinary is integral to motorsport. It always has been, it was when i grew to love the sport and it still is now.

Very few. .... even here where most follow it, some still stick head in sand...depending of course.
